It was 77 years ago and remains the largest seaborne military landing in history. With the changing nature of warfare, it may forever hold that distinction. A heartfelt thank-you to the brave men of the Greatest Generation. We could use more of that kind of spine and grit in the Pentagon upper echelons today.

In our family, we do remember the Veterans of all of the wars, not only WW2.

We raise a glass and toast their memory.

I have posted previously in years past of ms gamboolgals father, Mr. Beam, who was in he 101st. He was in the original group at Toccoa, GA all the way thru the war and was in every battle.

The photo below is a one of him at Nuremberg where he was on Eisenhower's Honor Guard and also escorted many of the Nazi prisoners to / from the Trials and some to the Gallows.
