Thanks for the response Strogg, I bought one named Bauer that was on sale for 32 dollars and the half inch bit the instructions call for but havent yet used it. Do you happen to know how deep most house slabs are? I want to use the shortest anchor to avoid leaks and cracks on the slab.strogg wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 8:13 pmIt's up to you. Depending on the safe, you will want a minimum of 3-4 inches. The more important thing is the diameter. The holes on the bottom of the safes are different from manufacturer to manufacturer. Some are 3/8", some are 1/2", and some are 5/8". You don't want to be putting in an anchor narrower than the predrilled holes.Take Down Sicko wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 4:35 pm Howdy, how deep did you have to drill your slab? I dont want to drill all the way to the dirt and create a foundation leak. I bought a hammer drill and masonry drill bit at Harbor Frieght but havent bought the anchors yet. What length of anchors do most of you guys use?
On another note for all who have the harbor freight hammer drill, how do y'all like it? I'm curious because not everyone has the appetite to buy a $200 Bosch hammer drill, and I wouldn't mind recommending something cheaper to folks who are looking for a light duty drill.

Sorry I realized I was a bit vague with my answer, and in turn is confusing. You want the anchor to be 3-4 inches. It depends on the thickness of the floor and any reinforcements the base of the safe may have. Generally you want to avoid drilling any more than 3.25" into the concrete. Your target depth of the hole is 3.00". The actual foundation is anywhere from 4-6" at the center. Don't be fooled by the outside of your house. The outer edges are actually way thicker than the inside.Take Down Sicko wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 8:26 pmThanks for the response Strogg, I bought one named Bauer that was on sale for 32 dollars and the half inch bit the instructions call for but havent yet used it. Re: New Safe
I personally like Red Head anchors for a safe. 3/8”x3” will work fine for your safe if you do all four corners
