Too funny that Eric Cervini flies to Texas from LA to in his words "flip Texas" and complains that he was thwarted by Texans. Go take your so called "DEVIANT WAR" somewhere else Eric.gtolbert09 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 5:34 pm Biden campaign cancels Texas events after Trump Supporters ambush

Re: What do you think will happen "IN TEXAS"
I’m guessing that Trump will take Texas, but not by as big of a margin as we would have expected. I might be wrong about the size of his victory, and I hope I am.
I wish I were as confident about the national results. If the "woke youth vote" indeed swarms to the polls in the numbers predicted by the Democrat Steno Pool (AKA “the media”), then a Trump victory is nowhere near certain.
If Biden wins Texas (not likely), republicans will react with vocal disappointment, but they won’t pour into the streets and start rioting and burning. Democrats will pour into the streets to celebrate, and some of these celebrations will turn violent. (Think of Lakers fans burning cars when their team wins a championship.)
If Trump wins in Texas (most likely), there will be isolated incidents of leftist violence in some of the larger cities, but it won’t be widespread. Republicans may turn out in isolated celebrations, but any violence coming out of these will be the result of AntiFa types attacking the celebrants.
Nationally, it’s going to be a wholly different story. If Trump wins, the crap the left has engaged in for the past year is going to ramp up significantly, and the past 12 months will seem like a picnic. If Biden wins and he starts on his gun agenda, CW2 kicks off before his 1st year is over.

A little more than 12 months ago I would have laughed at and ridiculed that idea of an actual Civil War, or Texit. Not so much now. Trying to get myself in the right mindset to do what is right if it comes to that. For the first time, I'm getting an inkling of what the founding fathers must have felt. I hope I have the courage of the men who followed them through the brutal path to a free nation. At one time, (I think still) the greatest country in human history. The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 6:54 pm I’m guessing that Trump will take Texas, but not by as big of a margin as we would have expected. Re: What do you think will happen "IN TEXAS"
I want to stress that only a fool wants a CW2. The cost, both in lives and resources would be more than most are willing to bear. But at the same time, only a fool looks the other way and pretends that such a thing simply isn’t possible. And if one thinks it is possible, then only a fool ignores the probabilities—possibility and probability being two different things.BigGuy wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 7:43 pmA little more than 12 months ago I would have laughed at and ridiculed that idea of an actual Civil War, or Texit. I’m one who thinks that such a thing is always possible, and that the probabilities are merely dependent on what kind of forces are being brought to bear onto the sociopolitical landscape at any given time. I’m now 68 years old. There are other forum members who are older than me, who may well remember things differently than I do. But what I remember is that there has been no time in my entire personal political life, going back to 1970, when the nation has been as polarized, angry, and fed up as it is today; a time when people are openly talking about a CW, and making preparations to survive one. I’m not limiting this to just "our" side. Many on the left feel exactly the same way.....AND there are those on the left who are actively trying to push things toward a violent revolution, out of which they believe they will emerge as our masters. For our part, I am assuming that most of us would oppose—by violence if necessary—any attempt to subjugate the nation under a communist dictatorship.
Also as an old man, it is my fervent desire that none of this would come to pass, and that regardless of who wins this election, the nation would settle back down into what most of us would call normal. I’d prefer comfort to war. I’m just nowhere near as confident as I was in previous years that things will return to normal, and so I am expecting the worst, while being hopeful for the best.
I want to also add that, as a Christian, I believe that God is in control of all of this, that none of it happens except he allows it, and that none of it surprises him. And that’s what I lean on.

I think there’s a good chance we won’t know the final outcome for several days after the election. Regardless, neither side will concede, and it may well go to SCOTUS for a final determination, a la Bush v. Gore.

Re: What do you think will happen "IN TEXAS"
I can see the possibility of some kind of CW, but not the very organized kind we had in CW 1, with separate north and south armies with uniforms, basic training and POW camps, etc. I think it would be more scattered and fragmented. For example, maybe a bunch of NFACs having a shootout with a local militia, something like that.
A question is, at what point would it become "legal," if that's the right word, to use deadly force when your home is threatened? Say if some Antifas or NFACs started breaking through our subdivision front gate... at what point would we be able to terminate them right then and there, and not have to cling to the usual nitpicky laws regarding deadly force. Or at what point would we not be prosecuted for using deadly force against a bunch of them surrounding our car, and not waiting for them to smash in window, etc.?
To me, these seem like more plausible "civil war" scenarios than a replay of Kosovo or Donbass.

I think a civil war is not a possibility at this point. The big issue would be which side has the military working for them. The other side will likely be wiped out pretty fast.

When it does happen, I don't think it will be fast. It's going to be more of a guerilla war.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 1:05 pm I think a civil war is not a possibility at this point. The British and Hessians had the same thoughts. :}03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 1:05 pm I think a civil war is not a possibility at this point. The big issue would be which side has the military working for them. The other side will likely be wiped out pretty fast.
I would be concerned about the Army if I thought they would take sides. I cannot believe that it will be a monolithic bloc, much as most of the other so called blocs are not monolithic. I think it will come down to the battalion level, and it might come down to the individual officer (but I doubt it). I think the uppermost staff will pass the order to activate down to their subordinate major units. The major units might decide to wait out and stop outside interference, but are more likely to pass the order further down. When it gets down around the battalion level, the officers are much more in touch with the feelings of the individual soldiers in the unit.
They local units will decide to deploy or not. If they accept the order, they will act against the citizens. If they decide not to, then they won't but the upper staff may decide to force it. I doubt they will force it because the military will need to be more unified in appearance and not fighting amongst themselves.
But if they order the military to fight an insurrection, I think a good number of units will do it. But it will only be infantry, not armor or artillery. And I don't think the Air Force or Navy will be tasked to participate. Politically, I don't see any good would come out of anyone saying to use tanks against or bombing American citizens.

Agreed. In a way, that's what is happening now. The "civil war" would just be small, civilian skirmishes coupled with disinformation in the media by politically polarized outlets. I imagine federal intervention in the form of the national guard or more would be required to quell the unrest if things goes way too far. Hopefully, that quelling won't come with authoritarian or totalitarian tyranny. If so, an actual civil war may begin as the military will be split ideologically and faction off.clarionite wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 2:21 pm When it does happen, I don't think it will be fast. A hundred years from now, when they're teaching CW2 in history class, historians have the start date around the end of May, or when the riots started in Portland.strogg wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 2:39 pmAgreed.
