Gotta say, I love baseball and I love the Giants.

This really, really hurts.

One of the things I've loved since I was a kid is being corrupted by political extremists. :(

It keeps getting worse...

Houston Astros decide to postpone Friday night's game against the Oakland Athletics, joining growing list of athletes in support of Black Lives Matter movement.

American Sports Are Letting Down America
https://imprimis.hillsdale.edu/american ... g-america/

Professional sports no longer let me down because I don’t care if they continue to exist or not.

The biggest takeaway from this article is that parents need to strive to remove celebrities as role models from their children’s lives.

Turn off the tv, cancel the subscriptions for sports channels, remove the apps from devices, don’t buy or wear the merchandise.

The best thing that can happen to these former sports entertainment businesses, other than bankruptcy and dissolution, is the networks funding them to pay significantly less for broadcast rights due to no one watching.

These guys had better wake up. The owners of these teams are taking a financial bath this year. The salaries stay the same and the revenue is not coming in. The value of the teams has cratered. They believe money grows on trees and their salaries are safe.

Gotta ask. I served to protect and defend the Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic.

Why the _______ do you care who kneels or stands for the national anthem?

You believe the 2nd Amendment is sacred, but not the first?

Where were you were the NFL banned players from wearing socks supporting cops?
You let me know when Blamtifa starts to support OTHERS' 1st Amendment rights.

Don't talk to me about First Amendment rights when they're not being treated equally and when the Left gets ALL the freedom to do their thing but not the Right. Have you said anything about that? Until you do, quit waving your service in my face as if you're some authority on the 1A.
I agree completely. I’ll get back on the posts from back then and comment. If you have links that will help.

Not an authority. I just know how to read the document.

Sticks and stones, brother.

And yes. I normally keep my service out of it. But I did make an oath. And yes it still is something I feel strongly about.

It’s ok if you don’t. No harm no foul. I don’t hold that against you. But you seem to think there are boundaries on 1A. Just show me.

Zen, you're off base... Andy (and almost every one of us) are fully in support of the 1A- so long as it's not censored- and especially if it's censored on just one side of the political spectrum.

If you can't see the disparity in how the 1A has been censored by the left and most of media then you have been asleep at the wheel, friend. Stick & Stones would be right if it were about name calling. :tiphat:

So you’re saying we’re exactly like the leftists who want to cancel everything they don’t believe in?

You can find your own links.

You do? You know it's about government trampling on free speech then, right, not just private folks having an opinion on what happens at sporting and other events?

Likewise

Still waiting to see where you complained about Tebow et al - or don't you feel quite as strongly about their rights?
Zen wrote: Sat Aug 29, 2020 4:57 pm It’s ok if you don’t. No harm no foul. I don’t hold that against you.
I don't care whether you do or don't. I swore an oath to my previous country's military and more recently took the oath of citizenship, part of which said "I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic". You're not the only one who's taken an oath.

I happen to follow Schenk and Brandenburg as limitations on 1A rights - don't suppose you've heard of them - but until the Right gets to display their beliefs freely, the Left shouldn't be given carte blanche to kowtow to a Marxist organization and force us to watch, any more than I would want to force you to sit there before YOUR entertainment while I foist my political beliefs upon you.
Lol. You really need a hobby.

Has your 1A rights been violated? Where have “you” been prevented from speaking freely?

People kneeled. It hurt your feelings. How precious. Here’s a tissue.

I remember when the Republican Party was much stronger than that. But see where we have gotten? Whiny whiny _______.

Damn.

I’m saying we have let the extreme left and right side take the center stage. I’m saying because I don’t want the left I have to stick with the right, no matter where they go.

hell no. That’s not the choice I want.

There is a Republican base that feels differently. We want a different leadership and we want our core beliefs supported.

Any intelligent person sees this.
