I've heard a lot of people repeat the bad info rampant in the wild we've all discussed here but this is a new one on me.

A student messaged me stating that another licences holder had told her that one is not allowed to carry while wearing a mask and wanted to know if that was true.

Evidently this question has come up a enough (I did not see it in a post search here) that the Texas State Law Library has a page on it..

I believe we are getting this question because the news has pointed out that the Illinois unlawfully carrying law does include carrying while masked. The governor ordered police to not enforce that law when he required everyone to wear a mask. The media was not asking if the governor had the authority to require everyone to wear a mask but did aask if he had the authority to tell officers to not enforce a properly passed law. Tells everyone what side of the issue they are on, as if we did not know.

Hellinois has restrictions regarding carrying a concealed firearm by a CCL holder while wearing a mask. The Governor's Covid-19 Mask mandate created a conflict: From Illinois State Police Firearms Services Bureau:
