And the really dumb part about that is there are some of us that just plain don't understand. Like me. I don't get racism at all.

1) I grew up primarily in Europe. Most of it was in Germany. I had German and American friends who were every color of the rainbow and never saw a bit of difference between them that was due to skin color.

2) I'm an Air Force Brat. My dad, Pawpaw (here on the board), had people who served under him and over him and they came in every color. I remember Thanksgivings (yes, plural) when I was a kid. Mom cooked up a BUNCH and kept it coming all day. And all day long, unattached soldiers, of every color, would come to our house to grab a bite to eat and enjoy some of the comforts of home-away-from home.

It wasn't the color of someone's skin that made any difference. It was the content of their character. I'll bet that Pop made sure that the jerks in his squadron weren't invited to dinners and I'll also bet that it didn't matter what color they were.

I don't understand racism at all. I guess I was just raised "wrong". Thanks, Pop, for NOT teaching me about this.

And now LivePD has been canceled. Have heard they are going after cartoon Paw Patrol too :banghead: :mad5

https://deadline.com/2020/06/live-pd-ca ... 202956175/

Yesterday, Dan Abrams posted to Twitter that LivePD was not going to be canceled after the reports about the show Cops. Looks like Network caved:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Shocked &amp; beyond disappointed about this. To the loyal <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/LivePDNatio ... DNation</a> please know I, we, did everything we could to fight for you, and for our continuing effort at transparency in policing. I was convinced the show would go on. . More to come. . .<a href="https://t.co/WWh7fDrig2">https://t.co/W ... </p>&mdash; Dan Abrams (@danabrams) <a href=" 11, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

I'll bet the next round of statue's being taken down is coming. How about Bubba Wallace saying Confederate flag be taken down in NASCAR, NASCAR was created in the south with Confederate flags waving. The professional sports are all changing their views, I'm done with all of them!

This article, from 2018, seems to capture the sentiment about why things are being cancelled

https://www.wellandgood.com/good-advice/cancel-culture/

Personally, I see all of this as the move to eliminate the "middle". No middle ground will be tolerated. No half believe will be allowed. You are buy into the whole thing or you will be eliminated. Cancelling "Cops" confirms the pop sentiment there is no such thing as a good cop. Everything every cop does is bad. SMH.

I feel weird, I agree with Whoopi Goldberg. And apparently HBO has agreed.
HBO Max has reportedly said that it would resume airing "Gone with the Wind" along with context surrounding its content.

They (general “they”) do not care about the constituency that has either helped them stand or has been a main component of their business for decades. I believe they figure that large % are those 55 and over will soon enough die off anyways, so who cares, right? They figure that the “future” is in the 20-30 year old Lib arena. The only thing keeping this Country from tilting all the way to the left is the 55+ year old bucket. That is my opinion.
So those of you over 55 especially, take care of your bodies. We need you a bit longer.

I'll miss that South Carolina Sheriff's Deputy that had arms as big as some people's legs. He could "look" at the suspect and they would give up. And the SC Obama (that was real name) Grocery store where it seemed like there was always trouble.

Not on the show, but then there was also our own Texan, former pro bodybuilder and officer with the Arlington Police Department (1989-2000, reserve until 2003), Ronnie Coleman. Ronnie is just under six feet tall, and his bodybuilding competition weight was 287-300 lbs, he got up to 320 in the off-season. Yep; he also carried a gun...

:iagree: I don't believe that anyone is born racist.

Longtime law and crime reporter Dan Abrams, who hosted A&E Network’s hit show “Live PD” before it was canceled in June, revealed there have been “active and ongoing discussions” about when and how the police reality series could be revived.
