8 Americans have Coronavirus aboard that quarantine Princess cruise ship in Japan.
So did they have the disease when it was quarantined, or did they get it because they are locked up on a ship with diseased people.
If it’s the first then they would all be back here spreading it around.
I can’t imagine what it’s like on that ship right now.
Worst part is that the ship is a giant prison right now. All guest are confined to their cabins, no booze, no cigars, no fun.
Running out of things to read and clean clothes sounds like another problem.
Maybe a lot of babies in 9 months amoung the younger guests.
I've been married too long. I was wondering how bad it would be locked in the room and couldn't go out. Talk about cabin fever. The baby aspect didn't cross my mind.
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.
This nasty bug has the entire cruise industry shaking in their boots. Countries are denying passengers to get off the ships. Quarantine in ports, and in some cases, denied anchoring in their harbors. I could go on an on posting links to the effects to all the effected passengers. There are many but the 3 links posted above give you an idea how serious this is.

I just saw this video on Twitter. Apparently China is spraying some kind of disinfectant all over the place. They are definitely desperate. This thing is not good.
Just read where one of the cruise liners is asking the US Navy and US State Department for help since they've been denied entry to several countries. IIRC most of these cruise liners are not flagged as US vessels in order to get around various U.S. rules and lower their administrative costs. So shouldn't they be requesting help from the country whose flag they fly instead of the U.S. government?
In this case, I'm speaking of a Holland America ship. For many years they sailed under the flags of Panama and The Bahamas, but it is my understanding that they are now back to sailing under a Netherlands flag.
Best advice I was ever given- Don't mess with the dog while he's eatin'.
The rumor is the infection rate in Woohun is 5% of the population and death rate is 5% of the infected.
11,000,000 x0.05 x 0.05= 1100x25=27,500 deaths (died or will die within 3-weeks)

I am really beginning to believe that China is hiding the real numbers on this thing.

Isn't it interesting how these major viral outbreaks all seem to originate in China? SARS, H1N1, coronavirus
I think it is a combination of there being just too darn many of them piled up like checkers and eating weird animals that people should not eat.

Not promoting the old testiment, but those food rules are there for a reason.

That's a good start... I'll add food handling to that as well. Live animals being sold in the same markets as room-temperature butchered meats and other foods (some intended to be eaten without further cooking) is a recipe for illness.
In China I've eaten a lot of fish that I picked swimming from a tank. Cooked vegetables I saw the farmer bring in the door. FRESH. I try to stay away from uncooked things always (bean sprouts scare me from a sanitation viewpoint, since they're added last and often not cooked at all). Traditional wok-cooked food is typically no problem.
I'd bet they change the laws on live animal markets after this mess.

There is a rumor on the net claiming this is bad in China because of a poorly designed SARS vaccine that was mandated on the people. Supposedly this vaccine causes an over reaction to a person's immune system when they are exposed to the Wuhan flu virus. That is the theory on why it's not spreading very rapidly in other countries compared to China. I have no idea if that is true but its probably closer to the truth than anybody will get from the Chinese government. It would also explain why the government started to shut down travel for what they reported was a few hundred deaths. The Chinese government knows this is bad but won't say how bad.
