"Novel coronavirus, denoted 2019-nCoV by the WHO[1][2] and also known as Wuhan coronavirus, Wuhan flu, Wuhan seafood market pneumonia virus, and Wuhan pneumonia,[3] is a positive-sense, single-stranded RNA coronavirus first reported in 2019. The virus was genomically sequenced after nucleic acid testing on a positive patient sample in a patient with pneumonia during the 2019–20 outbreak of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV)"

I'm supposedly going to China (in and out of Bejing) for work in March...tickets have NOT been purchased yet...I have a feeling that I'm not going to be making this trip...

But I heard on the radio the CDC said its nothing to worry about. One thing that makes it worse in China, is they have numerous cities with a larger population than New York City. And they have no idea of the concept of personal space. I could see a disease spreading there easier than here.
You never know about these type of things. Ebola a few years ago was going to be catastrophic in the US. At least that is what the media told us.
Maybe Stephen King is a fortune teller and those of us that survive need to get ready to move to Colorado.

In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

What made the Spanish flu so deadly was it killed the strong and healthy while those with a weaker immune response would survive, since the Chinese really could careless about their own people (they killed millions of their own people) Could this be a field trial of something they have created?

We went over new procedures for collecting specimens to be sent to the CDC for testing in my lab yesterday. Since we have an international airport we have begun screening for patients that meet the criteria to have samples collected and sent for testing.

836 cases in China. Disneyland Shanghai closes. They expect 350,000 cases by February. Trying to build a new 1000 bed hospital just for patients with this virus in 6 days.

Does anybody think that the Chinese government is closing down these cities and tourist attractions over less than 1000 people out of 2 billion being sick? I bet the numbers are higher than they are letting on. I still think this will be worse over there than here.philip964 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 9:05 am https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/arti ... virus.html

1st case in Chicago. Came though O'hare Jan 13 from China. No one was looking for illness from China back then. So looks like a couple of weeks from exposure to being sick. There is a reason the Bible talks about not eating weird stuff.

There is something circulating on the internet of a Chinese hospital worker saying 90,000 people have died in the state where Wuhan is located.

This is from the dailymail so keep that in mind. Is it time to get the tinfoil hats?

Scientists warned in 2017 that a SARS-like virus could escape a lab set up that year in Wuhan, China, to study some of the most dangerous pathogens in the world.
Now, a SARS-like coronavirus has infected more than 800 there, spread to at least 10 other countries and killed 25 in Wuhan and nearby provinces.
China installed the first of a planned five to seven biolabs designed for maximum safety in Wuhan in 2017, for the purpose of studying the most high-risk pathogens, including the Ebola and the SARS viruses.
Seems to be referencing the same interview:In fact, the SARS virus had 'escaped' multiple times from a lab in Beijing, according to the Nature article.
https://bigleaguepolitics.com/chinese-m ... pathogens/
A laboratory in Wuhan is on the cusp of being cleared to work with the world’s most dangerous pathogens. The move is part of a plan to build between five and seven biosafety level-4 (BSL-4) labs across the Chinese mainland by 2025, and has generated much excitement, as well as some concerns.
Some scientists outside China worry about pathogens escaping, and the addition of a biological dimension to geopolitical tensions between China and other nations. But Chinese microbiologists are celebrating their entrance to the elite cadre empowered to wrestle with the world’s greatest biological threats.
“It will offer more opportunities for Chinese researchers, and our contribution on the BSL‑4-level pathogens will benefit the world,” says George Gao, director of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Key Laboratory of Pathogenic Microbiology and Immunology in Beijing. There are already two BSL-4 labs in Taiwan, but the National Bio-safety Laboratory, Wuhan, would be the first on the Chinese mainland…
Many staff from the Wuhan lab have been training at a BSL-4 lab in Lyon, which some scientists find reassuring. And the facility has already carried out a test-run using a low-risk virus.
But worries surround the Chinese lab, too. The SARS virus has escaped from high-level containment facilities in Beijing multiple times, notes Richard Ebright, a molecular biologist at Rutgers University in Piscataway, New Jersey. Tim Trevan, founder of CHROME Biosafety and Biosecurity Consulting in Damascus, Maryland, says that an open culture is important to keeping BSL-4 labs safe, and he questions how easy this will be in China, where society emphasizes hierarchy. “Diversity of viewpoint, flat structures where everyone feels free to speak up and openness of information are important,” he says.
Yuan says that he has worked to address this issue with staff. “We tell them the most important thing is that they report what they have or haven’t done,” he says. And the lab’s international collaborations will increase openness. “Transparency is the basis of the lab,” he adds.
Hopefully Mother Abagail visits me in a dream and not Randall Flagg.

Corona has an R0of 2.5. Ebola has an R0of 1.5 to 2.5 Measles has an R0 of 15. Captain Trips has an R0 of 0.

Europe has 2 cases. We will see how socialized medicine holds up.
The photo reportedly shows them building a hospital in China. Other places on the internet says the same photo is digging a mass grave. I’ll let you decide.
Update:
“He added that the R0 in the WHO statement, which is 1.4 to 2.5, is in line with recent estimates of Wuhan illnesses made by a group from Imperial College London.”

On you tube. Title designed to fool censorship.
iPhone video inside hospital in a “hot zone” inside China.
Looks pretty serious.
More than the numbers, that have been published.
Read where a Beijing doctor went to Wuhan to gather information on the outbreak and before he could give his report to the other doctors in Beijing, he was admitted to the hospital.
