Loose lips sink ships.
A "New Deal" Socialist Democrat, no surprise. They've been killing Americans for many years, this incident was 800 of my submarine brothers.

Great Article! Many Thanks! :patriot:

I think a lot of nuances of war never get written down because (rightly so) no one wants vital info to get out to the enemy. My grand dad told stories about the Korean War I have never read in any book.

I'm not sure which US President it was (maybe Gerald Ford?), but a POTUS made a public statement that the US intelligence community was able to listen to the conversations of Russian leaders as they cruised around Moscow in their ZIL limousines.

The Russians had not previously been aware of this. They promptly changed their communications devices so the US could no longer eavesdrop on them.

***************************************************************************
The American traitor, last name Walker, gave numerous US secrets to the Russians. His motivation: money, not ideology. He informed the Russians that the US had installed "a kitchen sized device" over the Russians' under sea telephone lines near the Kamchatka (sp?) peninsula, which is near Alaska. We had been listening in on all their telephone traffic. Once the Russians were made aware of this, they used deep divers to locate and remove the device.

****************************************************************************
Walker provided the USSR with so much data on how quiet US submarines were, that the Russians used that information to make THEIR subs more quiet. US Navy personnel derogatorily referred to these upgraded Soviet subs as "The Walker Class".

Walker's son joined the US Navy, was stationed aboard a carrier, and was tasked with burning or throwing overboard all the hard copy data that was to be disposed of. Instead, he kept it all, then gave it to his father, who then gave it to the Russians. Sheesh.

Since the Walkers and Whitworth held the same job I had in the Navy I would have gladly pulled the handle that dropped them to the end of their ropes. Alas, we are too “civilized” anymore to hang traitors.

This article is from last July, but.... https://news.yahoo.com/ag-barr-reinsta ... 34942.html.
