Early Voting
Decided to go vote this morning. The line was the longest I have seen. Heard many others making the same statement while standing in line. Heard one person make the statement that they were voting because of what is at stake in this country/state. I hope the turnout continues to be strong and the country will see a massive red wave.

Re: Early Voting
Did my part.
And there was a pretty good line. I was happy to see the turnout.

Re: Early Voting
Could you vote a straight ticket this year? Some have said prior to early voting you could not.

Re: Early Voting
If you vote straight party don't forget about other local measures that may be on your ballot. That was the warning in my area. Some people vote straight ticket and walk away

"That was the warning in my area."
Honestly, no criticism of you personally, but voter warnings, ppppffffttt!
I'll vote the way I care too.
I won't let others decide how I'll vote, because they 'warned me'.
Funny, funny stuff and just a little hhhmmmm causing...
I don't need no stinkin warnings.

Re: Early Voting
I think it's more of a system / process warning than anyone telling people how to vote. Kind of like saying "remember to hit 'submit' or your vote won't register", or what we could have used in FL a few years back "remember to punch the chad completely out of the paper".Abraham wrote: ↑Mon Oct 22, 2018 2:14 pm "That was the warning in my area."

Re: Early Voting
I will vote tomorrow. I have a pistol class this evening and won't be home until after the polls close. I work, and carry openly, in Travis county, but live and vote in Bastrop county.

Soccerdad1995,
I'm naturally skeptical when I'm 'warned' in the arena of politics/voting, etc.
Unless, the earth is going to open up on me or an avalanche of some sort is about to start because I whistled, don't 'warn me'....that kinda thing annoys me.
Am I being grumpy...yep.
I'ma grump of late, or least more so than usual. (I've gotten some very serious negative things in my direction lately that's causing my 'already' grumpiness level to elevate)...but, you're most probably right and I'm just being difficult, which is of course easy for me...

Re: Early Voting
Voted today. When I went in at about 2:15, I waited about 10 minutes. The lines were twice as long when I came out.
(Only took me 5 minutes to cast my ballot... was careful to check the summary list to be sure no names were "accidentally" changed by the voting system)

Re: Early Voting
It took almost 2 hours total in Harris County and when I came out to leave the line was probably 85% as long as when I first got in line. I estimate 400 at least in line when I got there and over 350 when I left.
It's fine if you disagree. I can't force you to be correct.

Re: Early Voting
Henderson county had the longest early voting lines I've seen. Good turnout. Poll workers commented the same.
It appears I got some looks as if (because I'm younger) I was going to vote for the drunken Irishman, hopefully the "come and take it" hat made them realize that I wasn't... lol
But then again you can't really tell what other people are thinking. I was certainly the second youngest person in line. Only one other guy looked 18. Everyone else looked over 30 (I'm 27).
