seems like a reasonable solution...but there may not be any of them that are willing to step forward and have their credentials scrutinized...Oldgringo wrote:

It would appear that this misbegotten faker has never told the truth about anything? That brings up the question of the Electors' qualifications/credentials, etc. How does one get to be an Elector?talltex wrote:seems like a reasonable solution...but there may not be any of them that are willing to step forward and have their credentials scrutinized...Oldgringo wrote:

Re: Texas Republican elector won't vote Trump
Getting this thing finalized cant come soon enough. I am soooo ready for this to be official and I'm hoping things will calm down a little. I know, those Libs aren't gonna stop but I am really hopeful it will at least quiet down a little bit. If they would just give President Trump a chance, they just might find out its not Armageddon like the MSM and their College Professors portray. Now if we could just do something about that dang Zombie Apocalypse thingy.
Karma will catch up to this Elector. I think he is getting more attention than he expected and I wouldn't be surprised to see some kind of investigation into his past dealings. He is upsetting a whole of folks in this great state.

Just some guy's opinion.

Re: Texas Republican elector won't vote Trump
his bad behavior is going to result in changes for the future electors.
there is already a bill to change the fine to $5000 if you are faithless in your vote. I predict there will be more bills.

$$$ in fines wont change anything at all.... Hitlary will pay that change in a heartbeat. However, making it a federal crime to harass an elector should be on the books and FOLLOWED!

It seems to me that as important as an election is that becoming an elector based on providing false information should be akin to false information provided to obtain a handgun.

Re: Texas Republican elector won't vote Trump
It seems to me that in a perfect world the only oath an elected official should take is to support the Constitution and conduct his elected office with honor. Other pledges such as to have no effective tax increase or support an unknown final candidate seem dumb to me. An elected official should be able to vote their conscience depending on the final definition of the issue. The founders decided that a state's vote for president should be determined by electors, not just by popular vote, and these electors could exercise hopefully better judgement and resist radical change. Another check and balance, but most states or political parties have managed to undermine this objective. Should they?

If Trump had won the popular vote, but Hillary won the electorial vote, we would NOT be having this conversation about the pluses or minuses of the EC! Democrats and the media would be protecting the EC at all costs, and publicly laughing their behinds off at the Republicans. If you believe different, you live in another universe. It will be all over later today.

Re: Texas Republican elector won't vote Trump
There is NOTHING in the 2nd Article of the Constitution stating that electors should vote their conscience. That is simply sore looser left wing dribble being promoted by cry baby Democrats who chose to run a candidate who violated her oath of office and sold state secrets to foreign governments for personal enornment. Small wonder that the same traitors would now encourage electors to violate their oaths. Makes me want to puke...dale blanker wrote:It seems to me that in a perfect world the only oath an elected official should take is to support the Constitution and conduct his elected office with honor. The left wing conscience that is telling them to vote for the witch is the same conscience that tells them to kill the unborn.

"As Alexander Hamilton writes in “The Federalist Papers,” the Constitution is designed to ensure “that the office of President will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications.” The point of the Electoral College is to preserve “the sense of the people,” while at the same time ensuring that a president is chosen “by men most capable of analyzing the qualities adapted to the station, and acting under circumstances favorable to deliberation, and to a judicious combination of all the reasons and inducements which were proper to govern their choice."

Re: Texas Republican elector won't vote Trump
This supports why an elector must not succumb to the whining and protesting progressive dems that look to live off other people's money or further their own wealth. The electoral college is working as designed. This one elector is going against the grain by succumbing to the mob of progressive dems that just don't like the results.dale blanker wrote:Try this: http://www.factcheck.org/2008/02/the-re ... l-college/Bitter Clinger wrote: There is NOTHING in the 2nd Article of the Constitution stating that electors should vote their conscience. Re: Texas Republican elector won't vote Trump
Hillary herself said that a refusal to accept the election results would be "horrifying". I think this is a very accurate description of the actions that she and the rest of the liberals establishment are taking. Horrifying.
