Re: Slow mo Potatoe Gun Explosion
Was it Dan Quayle's "potatoe" gun???
4/13/1996 Completed CHL Class, 4/16/1996 Fingerprints, Affidavits, and Application Mailed, 10/4/1996 Received CHL, renewed 1998, 2002, 2006, 2011, 2016...). "ATF... Uhhh...heh...heh....Alcohol, tobacco, and GUNS!! Cool!!!!"
Re: Slow mo Potatoe Gun Explosion
Before you make your own "potato gun" you might want to check with your local law enforcement. Some believe they are illegal bazookas under the Texas Penal Code.
I recall years back in Austin some frats played some of their silly drunken games by firing potatoes at one another with potato guns. The Austin Police Department confiscated them.

Please know and follow the rules of firearms safety.

I had one back in high school. Those were the days.

He needs to shoot that thing through a chronograph to see if the end-chamber and mid-chamber ignitions make any performance difference. :)

Unless he can carefully calibrate the amount of propellant he is using to ensure identical energy profiles, I'd imagine it would be hard to draw too many conclusions.
Re: Slow mo Potatoe Gun Explosion
I made a few of these growing up. Not the smartest thing I ever did...not the dumbest either! haha I survived the lost non-padded generation, where when you got hurt you were told to "rub some dirt on it and cowboy up!"

"One- Mississippi, Two-Mississippi" is a time-honored calibration method....Papa_Tiger wrote:Unless he can carefully calibrate the amount of propellant he is using to ensure identical energy profiles, I'd imagine it would be hard to draw too many conclusions.
