Why do you think we have 2A to begin with? To hunt deer or to protect ourselves and our loved ones from a tyrannical, out of control government?
I always go to the peaceful resolution first and foremost. But when you look around and see tyrants getting away with literal murder and have the audacity to run for a president, when you see BLM's land grab left and right, when you start to feel like a stranger in your own country because an illegal felon is given more consideration then you,by those who swore to uphold our laws and protect our constitution, when you see every aspect of your culture slowly erode before your eyes, what are we, as citizens of this Nation supposed to do?
I underscore peaceful resolution first and foremost, but what do you do when you realize that you and your loved ones have been sold out? When every peaceful effort falls on deaf ears and little by little, you see your government turn on you...do you just act like good German and go along?
History repeats itself here.
I can't help but think of Tytlers Cycle, again.
What is happening to our fellow citizens is not right, it's unjust and the main effect intended is to control, intimidate, and suppress.

Not a good prospect. In the end, everyone loses.

To quote Martin Niemöller:

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

The question to be asked is, Is my Government serving the citizens or are we serving the Government. Stories like this make me wonder, because I can't see how the Feds actions in this scenerio have been in interests of any citizens.

Why does the fed own state lands in the first place?

I think that we have many like minded, good people in certain silos of the government, especially at the local level.
Problem is, those who speak out against these tyrants in the leadership roles are excommunicated and placed at the back of the bus.
And sadly, most people do nothing at all until the boots come knocking at their own doorstep. Hence my Niemöller quote.

To answer your question, I think that right now, we are regarded as peasants who live to serve the beasts with insatiable thirst for power.

I think that the fed initially created this "right" for the good of the people, with intent to return land into private hands:

"The sale of the land was helpful in retiring debts that accumulated during the Revolutionary War. "

However, we know the rest of the spiel now.

I promised my lovely wife that I would not do anything to exacerbate my hypertension. So I am not going to rant about the ABC agencies, in particular the BLM, pardon me while I rinse out my mouth, that control near 70 percent of the land west of the Rockies.
I support exposing the crimes of the Federal apparatchiks who ruin lives and livelihoods in the West, and the return to the states the "Federal" lands within their borders.
The Hammond family is deserving of moral and financial support in their time of
trouble. The protesters, not so much.

The feds would more likely sell this land to China before they sell it to one of us now days. :totap:

Agree 100%.

Has anybody pondered why the FBI is after these ranchers more then the thugs who burned Baltimore and Ferguson?

We're making bigger deals over citizens doing nothing morally wrong, instead of spending those resources in weeding out terrorists wanting to attack US citizens. They may call these ranchers terrorists, but the only people they terrorize are the government officials who wish to oppress us. :fire

No doubt. Our government is worse at keeping a budget then a 20yr old off to college who just received "Pre approved" credit cards. :banghead:
