MSNBC commentator Melissa Perry (not sure what her exact title is - "journalist" would be an insult to those who truly are) cautions guests on their use of words! :banghead:

Why, yes. We certainly have -- or at least the Statist-complicit thought police have, and are doing their best to drag the rest of us along...

On another forum somebody scolded me for using the word "thugs" when discussing the mayhem caused by the rioters in Ferguson when they burned down that beauty shop and pharmacy. She thought I was being "racist" as in her mind the word "thugs" applied solely to black folks...Uh....riiiiiiiiight.

I discussed the dictionary definition of thug with her and pointed out that thugs come in all colors and nationalities.

Political correctness appeals only to those who cannot or will not think for themselves.
Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence. - John Adams

Several years (Decades) ago I had to discipline an employee. In the writeup I used the word, "belligerent." The employee challenged my report based on that word being racist. The write up stood, but there was a lot of discussion about it with my superiors, and the word was removed from the writeup.

Excellent - good for you! I refuse point-blank to have my choice of words dictated by PC apparatchiks.

It looks like there is zero tolerance for PC on this Forum!
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

This thread doubled her amount of viewers for the day.
Just to be perfectly PC, this statement may, or may not, be construed as a "dog whistle" to indicate MSNBC does not attract the most informed audience.
