Sounds like you got the plan!!txglock21 wrote:Yep, heading out tomorrow to be ready to nail a deer at sun up Saturday morning. What's great this year is we can take up to 2 does the first two weeks of the season. Before, we only got 4 days at Thanksgiving. I hunt for meat, not antlers, so I'm taking what I can get. It's been 4 years since my freezer has seen any venison.
Man, making me hungry.....Looks like some good eats!!canvasbck wrote:You're missing out..........no freezer space needed!PatrickMas20 wrote:That's no fun. Sorry for the confusion. When I said "we" I meant the county I hunt in. Each county has different restrictions. The county I hunt in changed from last year. You need to check what/how many you can take in the specific county you are hunting in. Good luck to you too!PatrickMas20 wrote:Sounds like you got the plan!!txglock21 wrote:Yep, heading out tomorrow to be ready to nail a deer at sun up Saturday morning. I didn't know that, I'll have to do my research. I've never taken a whitetail so hopefully i can change that this year, have just taken some nice size axis bucks though. Yep I'll be in the blind before sunrise Saturday morning.
Good luck.
Edwards County is a great place. The Axis deer are plentiful there. Congrats on the property!anygunanywhere wrote:We close on a hunting property in Northeast Edwards County 15 December. Been searching for a suitable place for 6 months. I spoke with the developer and he gave me permission to set up my blind and feeder now but cannot hunt until we close.
I'm excited.
Mrs. Anygun and I were driving on the property last week and jumped a huge WT buck out of an oak mott.
The property has 2 -3 big hog wallows on it.
There are exotics in the area.
A co-worker and I have harvested over 150 dove near Corpus Christi this year.

I had a duck and goose lease for years back in the 60's and early 70's. I'm sure the 2400 acres of rice fields we had are streets, lawns and houses now.PatrickMas20 wrote:That's no fun. I wish you luck. Unfortunately our lease doesn't allow guests and even if it did it's a lot further than a two hour drive from DFW. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!Beiruty wrote:I am off the thanksgiving week and i.plan on hunting that week. I am still in look out for good hunting property or hunting ranch.

Tons of does, two have twin fawns, a few others have singles. Tons and tons. We are suppose to take 4 does and two bucks off the place this season. New Years should be fun.
