I'm new here.. my brother and I took our class two weeks ago and just got our pins yesterday.
We are both freaking out because..... We have a cell phone (area code from a different state) that we don't use (under contract and can't cancel yet), it is a number that only a few people have. We just received a message from some random lady we don't know, calling her concealed handgun instructor saying that her fingerprints were sent back. This is a wrong number, but what are the odds of getting this wrong number message while we are waiting for our plastic from DPS? Just too freakin crazy. We are both humbled...
Glad to be on this board, seems like a lot of good people here. We own a couple Glock 23s and a Para Ord Big Hawg .45 ACP.
The wait continues....

Some things are truly just coincidence.
Some things aren't.

Evermore?
I just signed papers to start a new job at Home Depot, and it turns out I will be working at store # 6502.
6502 was my telephone suffix at NY Telephone company at the end of my career, the happiest (and saddest) part of my career there.
Another omen?

I once got a call enquiring about the hours of a gun club I had joined within the past few weeks.
What the heck?!? I was just an ordinary MEMBER, not an officer of the club or anything . . . and this was before the Intenet, so my number couldn't have been posted on the gun club's non-existant web page . . . so what was going on?
It too a while to get to the bottom of things, but it turned out that my phone number - which I'd had for about two years - was the SAME phone number the gun club had about 15 years before, and the woman who called had an OLD telephone book . . .

Yea, we aren't too concerned - but it is still a pretty weird coincidence. We are taking a road trip soon and want to be able to carry (all of the states reciprocate w/ TX). If there were any problems with our applications would we have received our pins?

Getting your PIN means DPS received your application and put it into the system. It's possible to have a problem surface later. Good luck.
I had one of these things a while back. My phone started ringing about 7 a.m. with people wanting to buy my boat. I don't have a boat. It turned out the newspaper printed a classified with two digits swapped.

I once put instant coffee in a microwave, and I went back in time.
Apologies to Steven Wright.
