Valid 30.06 sign?

Walked into a Super Eight hotel today in Texas and saw a little sign, about notecard size, that had 30.06 printed on it on the teller window, Inside doors, etc etc. Is this a valid posting? Meaning If I walk into that hotel with my concealed can there be recourse for it if someone sees? See below for the picture of the notecard size sign. Now 30.07 isn’t posted so I could just open carry into there no problem but still. Curious about this one.

if its the size of a note card i doubt its within compliance... But cant say for sure cause there's no picture with your post.

If you see a 30.06 and no 30.07, and you openly carry, its a near certainty that you'll be asked to leave, IMHO.
And what you describe doesn't sound like its anywhere near a compliant sign. Browse

agreed, but thats not always the case. i know a place here locally that has a 30.06 but not a 30.07 and people open carry inside... if you come across a 30.06 and no 30.07 and you can see people inside OCing, or you know for a fact you're allowed to carry, and you're carrying IWB just flip your shirt behind your gun and bam its no longer concealed.

Even if the sign was within spec. You can still carry into your room, although hanging around in the public areas could still be verboten.

From the size that you describe it can not be a valid sign.

From the size that you describe it can not be a valid sign.
thats my thinking.... for it to be that size and fit everything on there that needs to be on there, the font has to be at least under 1/4" lol even 1/8"

According to my understanding, if the font is less than 1", and it's mounted as a sign; not valid, even if they cover the walls with it like wallpaper. If an employee hands the card to you; valid, you've been notified.

So that’s really in the law? If a employee hands you a card with 30.06 recited on it, then that building is covered and is valid?

Yes it's the law, but only for the business that they have control over. It may not be the entire building if they don't have authority to enforce your denial of entrance in the rest of it.

You've also overlooked that the hotel MUST post it on their website if they're to be in compliance with the law. I believe that both must be done and not either/or. Hopefully someone will correct any omissions or incorrect data.

Texas Occupations Code 2155.103 adds this requirement for hotels, but I am seeing nothing that says it nullifies a valid 30.06/30.07 posting if they don't do it.
Sec. 2155.103. NOTICE REGARDING FIREARMS POLICY. (a) A hotel shall include on the hotel's Internet reservation website the hotel's policy regarding the possession, storage, and transportation of firearms.
(b) If a hotel provides a written confirmation or a written statement of terms and conditions to a consumer after accepting the consumer's hotel reservation by telephone, the hotel shall include information specifying how the consumer may review applicable guest policies. The guest policies must indicate the hotel's policy regarding the possession, storage, and transportation of firearms by guests.
(c) A hotel owner or keeper commits an offense if the person does not comply with this section. An offense under this subsection is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than $100.
Added by Acts 2013, 83rd Leg., R.S., Ch. 237 (H.B. 333), Sec. 1, eff. September 1, 2013.
If I had to bet, no hotel has ever been fined for not having this on their website.
