Poll - How many rounds?
I'm going through the assessment phase again of my daily carry habits. I think it's wise to examine ourselves every now and then. And I'm wondering about the number of rounds I carry. How many rounds do you carry daily? Not your minimum. Not your maximum. Not loose rounds, but rounds loaded in a magazine. Your answer should include what's in your EDC gun, plus all backup mags you carry on your person.

Re: How many rounds?
I carry a spare mag always. 7+1 and a 7 rd backup. Both my regular EDC's are single stacks (9mm and .45acp)

Re: How many rounds?
I added a less than 7 category for revolvers, and it erased the votes already cast.

Re: How many rounds?
My EDC varies as I would think others do. During the week if I have to get out of the car after work or lunch, it's 12+1, no spare mag in a Walther P99. Weekend will be 6+1, 7 in extra mag for a Walther PPS. So generally 13 or 14 for me.
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

45 shield
6+1 in the gun and I always carry a back up 7 rounder so 14.
When I carry my Glock 19
15+1 in gun and may or may not carry an extra mag
LCR 357 mag
5 in the gun and 5 in a speed strip on my belt.
Which gun I carry depends on the situation. Sometimes it’s two at one time.

My SP2022 carries 15+1, and I carry one 17-round spare all the time. Total 33 rounds.

Just curious, why 6+1 in the Shield? Why not 7+1?cmgee67 wrote:45 shield

S&W M&P Mod 2.0 9mm 5inch. I carry 16 rounds in my 17 round magazines as I can more reliably and easily seat the magazines in the pistol when quickly reloading. I carry as many magazines as will reasonably fit with varying arrangements of belt loops and pockets. 32 to 64 +1

Ya know it’s just out of habit now. At work I have to stay very concealed and the flush fit 6 round mag doesn’t print whereas the 7 rounder with the extension does. If I OC that gun I’ll swap to the 7 round or if I’m owb carry at all. I always carry a back up mag regardless and whichever mag I carry in the gun I still only have 14 rounds. Now I do have an 8 round mag. It’s got a hyve mag extension on it but you can’t carry with 9 in the gun because with 8 in the mag it’s so tight you can barely rack the slide and I fear If i had 8+1 it could cause a malfunction. It’s a range mag for that reason. I can shoot just as good with the flush fit mag so either choice wether is the 6 or the 7 in the gun I feel confident.
