"no weapons or contraband" sign

#1

Post by JCC511 »

I saw a sign yesterday that I will try to post a photo of that said "no weapons or contraband". I thought it was interesting. There was no other sign lawful or otherwise on the doors.

Perfectly legal to carry here I would think. If you are open carrying, they may ask you to leave.

Keep it concealed and don't shoot the sculptures.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

That sounds like a solid plan.

If you can't get it at the PX, it's contraband.

I can't get anything at the PX. Does that mean everything is contraband? :biggrinjester:

This sign is letting you know that they have run out of weapons and contraband items and don't have any for sale at the moment. It's like a gas station with a "no gas" sign. If you open carry, they may make you an offer for your gun.

Not too bright of them to openly admit that they normally sell "contraband". They must be hoping that the local LEO's don't know what that word means.

Are they the guys who play at a contra dance?

It's not just a good idea, it's the law.

Good point. That is another possible meaning of the sign, especially if this is at a restaurant, club, or somewhere else that might have live music. My advice to the OP - don't spend too much time worrying about what they mean. The good news is they clearly welcome your legally carried firearm since they made the choice to not post a valid 30.06 or 30.07 sign.

I knew they were not signs of the legal variety. I found that to be amusing. This was at the Nasher Sculpture Museum in Dallas.
