Off Duty Cop Holding Child And Negligent Discharge

Seems really stupid to hold onto a child with no identifiable means of law enforcement displayed. And there is no doubt that firing off a negligent discharge while trying to wrestle a child and a group attempting to rescue the child is stupid. But, that's just me.

If I see an unidentified man holding a child while he and a crowd are begging and fighting for his release, I'd pepper spray the guy before he gets the kid in a van. Anyone can, (and I'm sure have) claimed to be a cop while abducting a child. That's why I'd like to see policey stuff in this video like a badge, cuffs, cars with strobes, shouts from the man that he's a cop and he needs someone to call 911 for him, etc.

I watched a couple of news reports about this, this morning. Apparently this argument has been going for a while - the kids keep walking across his yard, and reportedly he saw some of them urinating on his lawn or house. When he grabbed the one kid, several others ran at him and he was pushed through the hedge. Then he pulled his handgun. Certainly was handled poorly on his part, IMHO. Fortunate that no one was hit by the round that he fired.
