Renewal and DD From 214

#1

Post by RiderDean »

I just submitted my first renewal with 6 months to get it done. I provided my DD Form 214 when I first applied for my license and received the Veterans rate back then. The renewal said I may need to resubmit the DD Form 214 if it was not on file. For those veterans who have renewed recently was your form still on file? Or did you end up needing to resubmit it?

Mine was on file I did not resubmit. I had no way of knowing other than I submitted it originally.

This probably will not help. When I did my original CHL I filed as a senior but did not submit a DD214, I renewed as soon as I got my email about renewal and filed with a DD214. It takes 2 seconds to submit a scanned DD214. I had my LTC in less than 3 weeks and it says veteran. To be on the safe side why don't you just resubmit your DD214 and not worry about it for the next 4 years. Now I need to do my drivers license but I have to go to a DPS office to do that.

I just renewed in October. Just like it says, you don't have to resend your DD214. If for some reason they can't find it, then they will ask for it to be resubmitted. I have several friends including myself using the veteran's discount and so far none have had to resubmit. In short, don't worry about it unless they contact you. :tiphat:

Given that it says VETERAN on my LTC (and my CHL prior to that), that should be a good indication that they have my DD-214 on file.
