I was looking for information about carrying in Studio Movie Grill in Arlington. An old post (2013)
stated that they had a 51% sign at the bar, but you could still cc.
I'm confused??

You would have to look up their status on TABC website. I doubt that they are a 51% establishment, and have posted incorrectly.

I'm confused too. Not only because of the 51% sign, but you couldn't legally open carry ANYWHERE in 2013.

Where do you see anything about open carry in that post?

My guess is that the bar is legally separate from the rest of the theatre. If it's all one legal entity then I highly doubt that they make most of their total income from alcohol sales.

IANAL but they are listed as 51% Blue, so from what I remember, you can carry in there as they do not get 51% of their money from alcohol sales.

In Texas, if a separate vendor inside the theater that has a booth setup at that address makes more than 51% of it's sales from on premise consumption, then the whole premises is off limits. But yeah, highly unlikely that the movie theater as a whole makes more than 51% from alcohol sales. I have a hard time believing that a theater would have a separate company do bar sales though.

If the theater itself has a TABC license, then it's probably not a 3rd party vendor. The BLUE license means no unlicensed carry. Has no meaning to an LTC. No 30.06 - carry on.

OBTW, here is no such thing as 51% BLUE. TABC 51% licenses are RED - carry prohibited.
