The "Please Don't Open Carry" signs

#1

Post by Texas1999 »

So I noticed this sign on the door of a restaurant I was about to walk into the other day. Correct me if I'm wrong, but these signs are meaningless and it is not a criminal offense to openly carry past one if you have a LTC, since only a written notice compliant with 30.07 is enforceable...right? However, I assume once inside an establishment with an unenforceable "please don't carry" sign, a manager might then give you oral notice that entry on the property by a license holder openly carrying a handgun is forbidden, in which case it would then become a Class A misdemeanor under 30.07(a)(2) if you did not leave.
