Okay so I'm walking to the store and its 2 hours before New Years. First thing I notice when I pull the door is 3 handgun signs. One which is an actual government sign, and 2 other word printed sheets of paper. He says they don't allow weapons but in reality which sign would be legal?

Okay so 1 sign allows you to carry concealed, the other 2 won't let you carry period? Still don't make sense

They appear legal. I wouldn't carry there, don't give them your business especially since they posted 30.06 and 30.07.

30.06 means no carrying concealed. 30.07 means no open carry. They have both posted so you couldn't carry any handgun. Although technically in 1 hour the 30.06 sign will be invalid since the wording changes as soon as 2016 comes.

And it also appears the person that printed the 30.06 and 30.07 signs on 8.5x11 sheets of paper didn't see the size requirements.

What doesn't make sense?

One is a TABC notice that unlicensed carry is a Felony. No bearing on LTC at all.

The other two are the statutory notices (30.06/30.07) that the owner bars concealed and open carry on the property.

Translation: take your business elsewhere.

One refers to unlicensed possession, one to concealed possession, one to open possession.

All they need is a sign banning illegal possession while committing crimes.

If the letters aren't 1 inch high the sign is invalid. I forgot about that. I would still take my business elsewhere and not give them any money. Especially since if cops are called they might be unfamiliar with the law and might take you downtown.

Agree. No point going in. If you go in open because the sign is invalid, they will just tell you to leave, or because it's a new law they may just automatically call the police. Concealed is concealed for an invalid sign but why give them money.

If that's the type of store I think it is, then the owners are stupid.

Because of course someone who is going to rob the place will pay attention to your sign. (Sarcasm off)

The sign posted has the new wording on it.

I would just not give them any business at all until they removed the 30.06 sign.

The owners are stupid no matter what kind of business it is, for exactly the reason stated.
