Found this:

So it looks like the Zoo got themselves licensed as a child care "program" (day care?) in June. How does that affect the new law concerning LTC? They obviously did this because of the new law.

Does anyone know if the Fort Worth Zoo removed it's 30.06 signs?
Daycare centers are not off-limits per TPC §§46.03 or 46.035, so it doesn't matter that the Zoo is licensed as a daycare center. The rules applying to daycare centers concerning guns do not change the provisions of SB273 or TPC §30.06(e), but they may result in the zoo losing its daycare center license.

If the Zoo is still posted with 30.06 signs, someone please take a photo (dated if possible) and complete the
affidavit. I will send the notice letter to the City of Fort Worth and the AG complaint if necessary. If you want me to fax the notice letter, be sure to delete the paragraph stating that you have done so.

Charles, is there any plan for TFC to host a list of places that have been given notice and the AG been notified, along with the date of notification? I think that would be a very useful tool to see the status of things. Just wondering.

I can't go today to the Ft. Worth Zoo, but will try tomorrow.
Last night one of the local news stations had a story about Dallas Zoo and CHL. They wouldn't comment on camera, but it was reported that they are NOT taking down their signs because they are an educational institution and an amusement park. My guess is they are going to wait for AG to force them. Reporter mentioned Ft. Worth Zoo is basically doing the same. The story did mention that Houston Zoo took down their signs.

Cheapest Daycare in town; Apparently THEY SUPPLY THE DIAPERS !!!
https://www.fortworthzoo.org/plan-a-vis ... ion-hours/
Toddlers (2 & under) Free
I'm trying to find out where to drop off the infants while I go to work & if they are CPR certified & insured ... Where's the daycare employees?
Do they have "Internet NannyCams" like some daycares do >>> so I can see if the daycare workers mistreat my kids or if they "treat them like animals"

I haven't thought about that, but it's a good idea. It would give us a great resource, if people will report the information.

I have KIDS, and I LOVE MY CHILDREN!!
Don't people realize there are SOME THINGS that DON'T BELONG AT DAY CARE?
I speak, of course, of things like Bengal tigers and king cobras actually on the premises of day care facilities. Is that even legal?
I've heard of a day care facility with the gall to keep mature, predatory lions powerful enough to fling a child all the way from the large cat compound to the gorilla house, where there are primates powerful enough to fling child-size wads of poo all the way back at the cats.
Something must be done. This is happening RIGHT NOW at a well-known day care on Colonial Parkway in Fort Worth. (Mind your step while strolling between the primate house and the large cat compound.)

Interesting...And the wording they choose is NOT the wording in the statue, plus it is English only. One would only hope that more people would try to consolidate the language on signs like this:
NO FIREARMS: Pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code (trespass by holder of a license
to carry a concealed handgun) and Section 30.07, Penal code (handgun licensing law), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (handgun licensing law), may not enter this property with a concealed handgun or with a handgun that is carried openly.

Since it's not a sign, it doesn't need the Spanish translation (or the 1" letters). But the wording is a mish-mash of 30.06 + 30.07.

I wonder if there are any state laws or rules against dangerous animals in daycare centers? That would be interesting!
Chas,

Chas,
I should have checked before popping off - but there might be. From the Texas animal code:
• TEX. LOC. GOV'T CODE ANN. § 240.002(a), Local Government Code, is amended to read as follows:
(a) The commissioners court of a county by order may prohibit or regulate the keeping of a wild animal in the county:
(1) at a residence; or
(2) within 1,000 feet of a residence or public school.
I wonder if they qualify as a public school?

Would be interesting to have them after trying to make a case for being a school to not be one because of the animals. Maybe the county would end up putting something in writing saying that they determined that the zoo isn't a school.
