Well, I have 1 week left in Texas. We are heading up through AR and TN, then into NC. I emailed the NC AG office to ask if I was still a resident of Texas so my CHL would still be valid, at least until I change driver licenses or got to our new residence, but they haven't responded yet. I suppose I'll call.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this forum and everyone here. Thank you Charles for putting it together and also for the work you do in our legislative sessions.
We'll see how this works out. I think it is a good move for us, but if not, I can always move back.
Good luck to you getting the parking lot bill in 09. NC seems somewhat behind TX as far as concealed carry laws go. I'll sure miss the 30.06 sign (well I won't miss seeing it, but I'll miss them having to post that particular one to make a place off limits).
Regards,
Cody

Congratulations on the job, and good luck with the move!
The Carolinas are like most the the Southeast: draconian gun laws were only meant to apply to certain people, and white skin was an automatic license to violate those laws.
As is typical of unintended consequences, those laws are now applied across the board. I salute the fairness, but I still condemn the requirement to have "permission" to carry.
