Application Question

I just recently submitted my CHL Application online, and after the fact I remembered a traffic warrant arrest from over 20 years ago. Should I try to correct this before they process the application? If so, how's the best way to go about doing this?

Thanks!

I had a failure to appear arrest due to a traffic citation that my attorney was supposed to have taken care of but didn't.

I didn't say anything and there was no problem or delay.

It was a simple class C misdemeanor for failing to stop at a stop sign or something along those lines.

That's kind of what I was thinking, but thought I'd ask those who may know more than me. If something does pop up, will they come back and ask for documentation before they just deny the license? I really don't want to waste $140.00 on something as trivial as this, but also don't want to draw attention to this oversight which will only create delays in issuing the license.

Since they didn't come back to me at all, I can't answer 100%. I believe they would come back and ask. If you had not submitted yet I'd say go ahead and do it, but since you already have I would just leave it alone.

Frankly, the reason I didn't put it on there was that I did not remember the year in which it happened at all....could guess within maybe 2-3 years? I looked online and even did a background check on myself to try and find the date and it didn't show up.

Welcome to the forum. :tiphat:

Were you actually arrested, fingerprinted and photographed due to the warrant? if no fingerprint, photograph for the Class C warrant, then I don't think it will be needed, unless they send a letter asking about it.

If you were, then you may want to send an email or call the DPS CHL unit and let them know you forgot about a Class C warrant and if they need information you can provide it. That would show you are open about the arrest, but just forgot about listing it instead of potentially trying to hide something.

Fixed a critical typo above. My apologies.
