I've been trying to look this up. Is it ok to travel to NC from Texas through the listed below States as long as you follow each states rules?
Texas
Louisiana
Mississippi
Alabama
Georgia
South Carolina
North Carolina (Destination.
Can I conceal carry along the way? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm a little confused about the Rick Perry "Will Issue" stuff. Thanks.

And, all those states honor the Texas CHL. Just follow the laws in each state. Laws can be seen on the site at the link above.

I recently traveled to Missouri and went through both Arkansas and Oklahoma. Instead of relying on a website that compiles all the laws I went to each state and read over their laws pertaining to CHL's and also to having a loaded handgun in my vehicle (since my wife does not have a CHL and normally keeps her handgun by her). I also printed out the laws from each state website to have a copy in case I ran across LE that were unfamiliar with their own laws. Could be overkill but I would rather read each states laws than to trust somebody looked it up and was correct in how they relayed the info on a website.

Good idea mrvmax. Im just going to study the carry laws link Keith provided for each state. Im not sure if a LEO would care about laws I carry on paper. LOL.
I wish LEOs were better informed about CHL holders. The law are pretty straight forward in these states Im traveling through. If stopped I have my plactic\tdl ready to hand to the office & do exactly what he says & very politely. I will make sure I don't speed too. LOL.
By the way -Thanks for sharing your experience traveling.

I create a "cheat sheet" of the highlights of each State that we visit so that I can refresh my memory when we are getting close to the border. We have an RV and have done many multi-State trips including all of the ones that you are visiting. The ones that I want to remember are whether immediate notification of the officer is required (I probably would anyway) and whether a "no guns" sign has the force of law. Another one is whether you can go places that serve alcohol. Listing the States down the left margin and making a column for each of the areas that I want to focus on puts all of the info on a single page. It is not a substitute for knowing all of the laws (which I study in advance) but a way to try to recall what I studied. After 20 days on the road and in multiple States, it all starts to blur together without a point of reference.

A cheat sheet sounds like a good Idea. I noticed that some state laws are a little different than Texas through the South. Signs & stuff like that. Pretty interesting.
I will be visiting my Son & Grand kids in NC . My Sons friend is a Deputy Sheriff & a good fried of mine. He knows I have a CCL. I didn't carry last visit because I flew.
He will give me pointers for no carry areas in NC etc.....
Thanks everyone for getting me on the right track!

Some LEOs are and some are not. The same goes for CHLees, people thinking about getting a CHL, and store sales personnel.

I've made this drive many times to visit the grand kids in Asheville. Only incident was my defensive use of a firearm(drew, did not fire)at a gas station in Saraland Alabama.

Sorry that happened to you Dadtodabone but glad you were able to stop the threat.

While I was refueling our car, a young man threatened my wife with what appeared to be a small semi-auto pistol. She shouted "Gun!" and collapsed her seat back. I stepped back to the front door while drawing my weapon, presented through the window and he dropped his nickel plated cigarette lighter and ran away. There were multiple witnesses and video tape. The young man was well known to the local police and was apprehended shortly afterward.
We were interviewed and made a statement. We spent the night at a nearby motel and continued our journey the next morning.
