I am sure everyone is aware of the pressure Mothers against Guns are putting on business such as Target, Chili's and Kroger and we have all heard the medias reports of how Starbucks has Asked its customers to kindly leave their guns at home. I know that the penal code is specific on the language of the sign that is needed under section 30.06, but am I to assume that Starbucks request would be considered proper notification as described below? I am not a lawyer and didn't spend the night at a Holiday Inn so thought someone here might know.
(b) For purposes of this section, a person receives notice if the owner of the property or someone with apparent authority to act for the owner provides notice to the person by oral or written communication.
I've spent a lot of money on guns, bullets and holsters.... The rest I've just squandered away!
it does not meet the legal requirement in my way of thinking, first is the written notice requirement isn't even close to being met, the second is that a tv report doesn't ensure you have received verbal notice, gotta be face to face or no go. I could be wrong but that's my belief
No. Starbucks provided notice to the reporter that was covering the story, for everyone else it is hearsay. They also stated that they would honor State Law.
IMHBAO, Starbucks isn't targeting the CC community.
They merely are addressing the OC demonstrators that act like idiots.
Haven't seen a Starbucks, Chili's, or Target or Kroger that have posted 30.06.
CANT wherever legally allowed.
