I am just asking, is it legal to open carry on private land in the state of Texas. This would be in a non incorporated area?
If any one can give me an answer it would be of great appreciation.
Thanks in Advance

If it is your own land, or you are involved in hunting activities. IANAL.

I thought if you owned the land, you still had to be involved in hunting or "sporting" activities. Correct me if I'm wrong.

your land, your rules..... you can open carry all over your house and yard too as long as you don't step onto the street or others property.

I had it wrong.. PC 46.15 makes it legal for you to carry, either openly or concealed, on property you own or control.
Not land you control - need to be hunting or involved in similar sporting activities that involve a firearm.

What is the difference between property and land? I have 5 acres of land, it is my property, open carry or no?

you can open carry any place you have control over, this means buildings, land and moveable tangible property. CBR is wrong in his assessment. if you own it you can carry, if you are the manager you can carry no limits at all, and if you own the road you live on you can carry on that road, why you ask because its PRIVATE property

I open carry on
MY land even when not hunting. I believe that if you are hunting legally on land that you do not own than open carry is legal. So if you have that 44 mag revolver on your hip while hog hunting you are legal as long as you have legal permission to be on that land and are legally hunting. On your own land you can carry open or concealed. I believe this to be correct. Now, if somebody looks into your property and calls the law because they got alarmed seeing you with a gun you may have some explaining but I don't think the police can do anything. Correct me if I am wrong. I wouldn't be out on my property without my S&W Governor on my hip. I fired one of the 410 rounds once without hearing protection though and didn't hear for a couple of days. If I see a snake I think I will throw the gun at him.

I accidently let go a couple of rounds of 12G at some dove without my ear protection once. ONCE. It was a LOUD crack, but I don't remember any lingering effects......But ONCE was enough.
I think that
where you open carry on your property is going to make a lot of difference. I own my home outright, in an upscale suburban neighborhood of Grapevine. ONE of my neighbors are a gun family. The others.....not so much. They all know I am a gun guy. I don't
think any of them would call in a MWAG if I were open carrying on my property, but I'm not sure I'd want to have to explain it to a cop driving by. So far, Grapevine PD officers have been unconcerned with my CHL when I've had to show it to them; but this community isn't quite as conservative as people are fond of thinking it is, and I am pretty sure I'd be interviewed for mowing my lawn while armed if I were open carrying and a local cop saw it.

I was curious about this too.. I'm rural and prefer an OWB holster, so I open carry on my property.
Technically, I can't do the same thing on my neighbors property (even with permission) unless we're actively hunting or engaging in a firearms related sporting activity (target shooting).
We have a small gun range on our property, so my neighbor can open carry on my property (with permission) - it's relatively easy to claim that we're about to go shooting..

If the law really was that you have to be involved in hunting or a sporting activity to open carry on your own property, and it's not, it would be unenforceable. Why yes officer, I'm engaged in target practice.....

We have a small ranch and I always open carry. One day a FedEx lady was delivering a package and noticed the M&P on my hip -
WHAT CHU CARRYING THAT FOR? - I told her snakes. She was out of Austin so that explains the reaction

Why would you insult snakes like that?
