carry at jelly stone park?

My family and I will be going to jelly stone (yogi) park this summer and we're wondering if we could carry on the premises. The idea is to keep the guns in a lockbox in the cabin. We are both chl holders. The website has the typical "no weapons" but nothing stating anything legally obligatory. So my question is mostly has anyone been there and noticed a 30.06 or know of some reason not to take the guns? We mostly want to carry for travels but don't want to leave the guns in the car all weekend.

Just a couple reminders.

Texas is the only state with 30.06 signs. I think National Parks are okay to carry and abide by that state's laws on concealed carry. The cabin part is what I'm not sure about. It seems like a no-brainer, but since it is on federal property and is a building it might be off-limits. Hopefully, someone else will know about the cabin.

I don't believe it is federal or even state property. It's a kid friendly almost all inclusive kind of amusement park really.

Jellystone Parks are privately owned campgrounds. Unless the park is on property leased from CoE on a lake you should be able to posses the firaearm if there is no 30.06.

We frequent Jellystone parks. They are privately owned. No signs that I have seen. They do have a policies form you are required to sign at check-in which states no guns on property. We are generally in bathing suits all weekend anyway so I just leave in the lock box in my vehicle while in the park.

To Asbandr and everyone else:

I am very sorry for my error. I assumed the reference to Jellystone was a cute nickname for Yellowstone and have never even heard of the real Jellystone Parks. Dern Saturday morning cartoons.

Hahaha! Sorry, I may be a chick but no cutesy nicknames here! Except I did name my first gun Freddy. It was a Ruger LCP so it was Freddy Ruger. :smilelol5:

So since it's not a 30.06 would the form be legally binding? It's not actually notice for a concealed carrier as the law requires... we don't intend to carry on the grounds necessarily, but I've always hated the idea of leaving the guns locked up in the car so would rather keep them in a lockbox in the cabin...

I have been to the one in Waller, 4 years straight, beginning in 2011. No 30.06. Carried all the time, save the swimming pool, if I got in. I kept a lockbox in the cabin otherwise.

Btw, great place for kids.

We took a family trip to the one at Canyon Lake last year. Not only are there no 30.06 signs, they are actually welcoming to chl as long as you keep it concealed and/or locked up. The check in form has something about no weapons & I didn't initial it, so they asked about it. I told them I have a valid chl, they asked to see it then reminded me to keep it concealed. No problems. And the campground was awesome with lits of kid activities.

Plenty of thugs at Jellystone. We've stopped going. No guns would be a deal breaker in that park. Especially on weekends.

Are you talking about the Canyon Lake one? If so, seems we have two very opposing views of the park. When was your last visit?

I've found that with any private campground, your mileage may vary.. These are all the same "brand" but their amenities, how well they are kept up, and how the camp feels tends to vary quite a bit....

If you're going to keep a lock box in the cabin, I would suggest that it be kept inside a dresser drawer or better yet inside your luggage where it's not in sight. That removes temptation and any cause for objection. I have always found that discretion is a great lubricant.....
