I am curious about something and forgive me if this was beat with a dead horse some time ago. I live in El Paso which has both home to the US Army Base Fort Bliss which I know carry is off limits and the Fort Bliss National Cemetery. I went to go place flowers for my Grandmother's birthday at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery, which again I know is Federal Property. Without even thinking about it I drove my car to the place. Left my weapon in the car (out of sight) and went to place the flowers. My Grandfather (Ret. US Army) and Grandmother both of which are buried there have installed in my head the one place you don't play around is the base.
Is my taking my weapon along with me in the car illegal because I technically carried on to US Federal Property are there exclusions to National Cemeteries?

Maybe a little macabre, but who are you gonna shoot?

It's a shame they have so little respect for the sacrifices of veterans that they wantonly violate constitutional rights of loved ones visiting the graves.

National Parks are ok (within a state that allows it, although you can't carry inside the buildings) but National Cemeteries are NOT ok?
Just plain dumb.

Sorry to revive my dead thread (zombie pun intended). Don't get me started on this. Fort Bliss Zero Landscaped (it is entirely full of rocks) the cemetery. This was done due to safely ensuring water. Our golf course though is still full of grass and green as can be, yet those who have served our country can't have a patch of green grass.
