CHL came with wrong picture.
One of my friend's son got his long awaited CHL in the mail with the wrong picture and signature. Oops.
I conceal carry because I choose not to be a victim.

Wow... I am pretty sure someone else had this happen not to long ago.

I bet they get that fixed in a hurry.

Definitely not the first time I've heard of that happening.

Hopefully they'll get it sorted quicker than our new payroll service at work.jmra wrote:I bet they get that fixed in a hurry.
Re: CHL came with wrong picture.
Does anyone know how this could possibly happen? I have a picture on-file with the DPS via my TX DL, and somewhere it's stated that this pic would be used for my CHL (still pending/in-process), and then when I went to the FAST location they also took a picture there. I found it puzzling at the time though didn't question it at all, and in hindsight can only think that this 2nd pic was taken to be able to match my DL with my FAST (I suppose in case I arrived at FAST with a fake DL).
Anyway if such matching is going on then it makes this "wrong picture" difficult to fathom.

The FAST photo is to match your fingerprints to your DL or Texas ID photo and make sure you are one in the same.TomsTXCHL wrote:Does anyone know how this could possibly happen? In the case of the OP, I am sure they did that as they matched the fingerprint DL photos to process the CHL. However, sommewhere along the lines the wrong DL photo was selected when it went to print, but post the initial photo comparison.

Thanks Keith for confirming my suspicions about the FAST photo. My wife was concerned that it might get used on her license...!
It would be interesting to hear-back about how long it takes, after these seemingly interminable waits for CHL processing, to fix a photo mistake like the above.

Well, they do say that quite often, couples take on the mannerisms of the other partner - I guess that looking like each other isn't too far removed.TomsTXCHL wrote:Thanks Keith for confirming my suspicions about the FAST photo. My wife was concerned that it might get used on her license...!

Re: CHL came with wrong picture.
Years ago, when my son was in college, he had to renew his passport for a school trip to Europe. The passport came back with a photo of a black guy who was a member of the school group. My son is a pale blonde guy. We thought it was pretty funny but I have no idea how it could have happened. Human error somewhere along the way. It was remedied in less than two weeks.

I don't understand how this happens either.. Man, what a mess that might cause if you didn't pay attention when you put it in your wallet.

Ha, ha! I actually meant "my wife didn't like the pic she took at FAST and hoped it wouldn't be used on her CHL" but I wasn't too clear wuz I.n5wd wrote:Well, they do say that quite often, couples take on the mannerisms of the other partner - I guess that looking like each other isn't too far removed.TomsTXCHL wrote:Thanks Keith for confirming my suspicions about the FAST photo. I thought my renewal had the wrong picture but when asked, Mrs. Oldgringo said, "....no dear, that is you".

I've been startled more than once seeing what I thought was a stranger in the bathroom. I hate big mirrors.Oldgringo wrote:I thought my renewal had the wrong picture but when asked, Mrs. Oldgringo said, "....no dear, that is you".

Re: CHL came with wrong picture.
It happens because there is still a human typing in the DL # or CHL # to identify the file name for the picture. One wrong keystroke, and the file name on the photo file is wrong. Then when they manufacture the license, the computer pulls the picture file to process the license and "Ta da" the license is wrong.
We were also told that the new renewal licenses would use our current drivers license photo too. Got my latest CHL renewal last month. Definitely not my drivers license photo. Nor was it the photo from my previous CHL. I assume it was the picture they took at FAST, but at least it was me...
How good are you at typing in numbers?
