New to CHL and this forum, seeking quality knowledge.

I received my CHL this past June and of course began carrying everywhere I go. I really don't go anywhere special most of the time so locations I visit haven't been difficult to determine where my carry is permitted or not. Since I have found this forum while searching for an answer I decided I'd join up and ask you all to feed me any info that will be most helpful in keeping me in the green when carrying. In particular I was looking to find out if CHL is permitted in the new Austin Aquarium that opened up this month as I will be taking a friend and her daughter there this week. Any info you guys can provide me will definitely be helpful.

A little background:
I'm soon to be 25 years of age living just outside north Austin.
I have a personal passion for guns and motorcycles.
I'm currently a machinist at STI International.
I've been enjoying guns since I bought my first one when I was 19.
My growing interest in guns and shooting helped my dad gradually overcome his subtle reactions so startling sounds from his time spent in the Vietnam War and now we enjoy guns together.
I build my own AR-15s 100% custom and definitely espensive as hell haha.

Well unfortunately it seems my picutes are too big of files to upload. Doesn't look like I'll be able to share any gun porn haha.

Welcome to the forum! Lots of great info. To be learned here! :thumbs2:
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

Welcome! You can use Microsoft Paint to reduce the size of your pictures. 800 pixels wide is a good size for forum purposes.

Welcome to the forum :tiphat:

I did a search here http://www.texas3006.com/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; on the Austin Aquarium and nothing turned up. Probably because it is to new. If you do a search in Austin though it will help keep you green as per your original request.

Yeah I figured it would be a long shot figuring it out through internet searches since the place is so new. Oh well, I'll just have to go and if I see the evil sign I'll just have to turn around and leave it in the car, or her car if I'm on the bike.

i found a cool app called Posted! it shows where non friendly and friendly gun places. categorized by restaurant, entertainment, retail, and so forth. it also has a way for you to add locations on the spot and map them. seems pretty handy but im sure the data base could be bigger.
