Guy Came in Brandishing Yesterday

I had a guy come into my place of business yesterday with a semi auto sticking out of his pocket.
Before I can say anything to him his buddy starts talking; really hard to understand and he had to repeat himself several times before I figure out that he's telling me his buddy has a CHL.
I say that's all well and good but it has to be concealed and his isn't concealed.
The guy with the gun says that they just changed the law and he isn't breaking the law.
I tell him that they recently cleared up the imprinting issue and that if your gun is concealed and the outline is showing through your cloths then your fine. What you're doing is out right openly displaying it.
He then pulls it out of his pocket, in a holster, and moves it to the front of his pants and covers it with his shirt.
Ok, now if y'all want something to eat we're serving right over here; I tell them.
Well he figures he's been "hassled" enough and they decide to leave.
Called the cops and they show up and talk to mush mouth. Not sure if they caught up with the guy with the pistol he walked off in another direction.
Interesting day...

Why call the police he corrected it and moved on. as a side note I think this would be classified as an IWAG call.

They had a certain feel about them. One sounded and acted high. When they left they went next door to a closed for the day business and hung out. It was the owners call and he decided to call the police.

Maybe this will be another thread today with a chl holder complaining he was harassed
I'm sure there will be more of that with the change in the law with people pushing the limits

Good move. Sound like bad eggs who were accidently discovered.

How do we
know he has a CHL? We do not have sufficient information. Need more factual information to make that determination.

That's correct. His hard to understand buddy was the one that told me the guy with the gun had a CHL. The guy with the gun then told his buddy to stop talking...

i think the OP did fine to call the police.
If he had a CHL, he must know the law, if he doesnt know the law, then let the law talk to him, face to face.

If he had a CHL, he SHOULD know the law, but may not...

Why am I not convinced that the dude with the gun had a CHL?
Sounds like the owner did the right thing, IMHO. I seriously doubt any of the "regulars" on this forum would act in such a manner.

I have no problem with them calling the police in this situation.

I am skeptical he had a CHL. If not, then having the police catch up to him is a good thing. If he did and is that ignorant of the law, he may become one of the headlines we dread. I would suspect he needs to have a conversation with officers to help impress upon him the need for understanding and respecting the law. The helpful advice of the OP did not seem to impress him much.

Ahh... I knew the badges would come in handy. Can I get one with lights and a whistle?
