Poll: Spouse's Feelings On Carrying

Sorry for back to back poll questions, but I have always been curious how forum members' spouses feel about them carrying. I started at "Spouse tolerates that I carry, but takes pot shots" and after a couple years, I think I am up to "Spouse is secretly happy that I carry." Feel free to substitute "significant other" for "spouse."

She wasn't too happy about having a gun in the house at all and for many years there wasn't. Then came our daughter. Things changed a little after that and I convinced her it would be better if we could stop something from getting worse before we had to give the police a description of the person that took our daughter. There were a lot of child abductions during her pregnancy and for about a year after our daughter was born. My wife is a smart person and took the next logical step on her own and asked me if I was going to get a CHL before I ever brought it up. It only took a year or two before she mentioned to me that she just assumes that I'm always carrying and admitted that she's comforted by that.

My wife grew up in a gun toting family. We both carry.

Spouse and I both got CHL at the same time and carry everywhere legal every day. No sense in not having tools with you in case you need them.

She is glad and relieved that I carry, even at church.

I carry, she tolerates it. However, once in bluemoon, I hear why you need to strap it, you are going Kroger shopping in the safest city in Texas.

My wife is a 3rd Dan Black Belt in Tong Soo Do. She tolerates the guns but unenthusiastically.
We have an agreement that when someone breaks into our house, if he is unarmed she gets to whack him; if he is armed I get to shoot him.

I had exactly the same response initially. I made a point of getting her to watch the robbery videos from the Wal-Mart parking lots. Additionally, we've had a couple of really hairy situations while we were traveling and now the blue moon question is "are you packin'?". She knows the answer (yes) but just wants some reassurance. I carry using different holsters and they are in physically different places so when she knows where to look and still can't tell for sure, I'm satisfied my concealment is passing muster.

Wife and I got CHL at the same time (well, she didn't send her paperwork in for 2 months, but we took the class together).
She didn't get her CHL to carry, mostly so we would both learn CHL laws and so she could carry if she ever wanted to
Mostly she could work within the confines of MPA.
She will carry when I push her to carry but feels that if I am with her, I will protect her (we have had the discussion of what ifs.....)
So my answer was "Spouse carries" but could have been "Spouse has CHL, doesn't carry and is not always sure why I carry"
