Going to the Dogs

I am going to the dog show at reliant stadium tomorrow and was wondering if this was considered a professional sporting advent. does anyone know? and does anyone possibly know if i can carry there. are there any 30.06 or any other restrictions i should know about?

It sounds like a pro activity as there are awards and/or trophies, and judges.

Pasadena rodeo has judges, trophies and awards yet it is not a professional event and you can carry at it. this is why i ask about the dog show.

What makes you think it's not a professional sporting event?

Dog breeding is not a sport, it is a lot of work when done properly and showing your dog is to show how well you work at it and how responsible you are.( i hate back yard breeding). you are judged like any other livestock show (therefore my comment about Pasadena livestock show)
Now the other stuff that goes on like fly ball, Frisbee, agility are all sports. you train with your dog to be the best at what sport you choose. these are all open to whatever breed, crossbreed, mute whatever, know one cares. If it is open to all then there can be no professional, i am not a professional trainer and my rotti is not a registered dog (even though he is a rescue from the Texas 200 and we are training him to be a therapy dog) but i can enter into any of these sporting events.
So is the dog show considered a professional sporting event??

I know some people will not agree, but dogs are not people so I don't think that they can be professional athletes, so the show can't be a professional sporting event.

I agree not a PRO SPORTING event. It is a DOG show nothing more the people are not paid to be there, anyone can enter a dog in a show not just a PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE. so carry away

Well you never know with some politicians and some courts... THEY might actually consider a dog show to be a sporting event
under the law.

Wrong. The Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo is a PRCA (PROFESSIONAL Rodeo Cowboy Association) event. So, it IS a professional sporting event and thusly off limits.

the rodeo is the professional event not the live stock show so as long as you don't go inside to watch the cow riders your good

If you don't go inside, you're not in a building. ("Premises" means a building or a portion of a building.)

True, however some of the livestock show are inside as bidding on a particular cow/sheeple/male chauvinist pig occurs inside and is part of the livestock show not the rodeo

My general rule of thumb is that if no defense is being played, it isn't a sport. Although I wouldn't risk going to jail on one person's made-up definition.

there is no defense in nascar nor NHRA drag racing but they are professional sporting events
