Moral vs Ethical carry on 30.06

We all know the law says the 30.06 signs have to meet certain standards. That is not my question.
The way I see it, is even if the sign is not "legal", it is obvious that business does not want me, nor my money there. So I don't shop at or visit those companies. No reason to give them my money. I also let all my friends know as well.
Where do you draw your line?

This has been discussed ad infinitum on the forum in the past. Basically it boils down to each individual and what they are willing to chance. We all know what a legal sign is, but those that are close may cause you to be arrested and charged and you will then have to spend money to go through the legal process to try and be found not guilty.
So, bottom line, everyone must make their own decision on whether to pass a 30.06 that is not up the the legal requirements.

Keith, I don't think that's quite what he's asking. I think he's saying that if a business displays any "no gun" sign, then we shouldn't go in. And you're right, it has been discuss extensively here.
To the OP: Frankly, I disagree. We don't know why the owner/manager chose to put up a "no gun" sign. Perhaps their insurance required it, perhaps they just want to make their gun-fearing clientele feel safer, perhaps they trebly want to ban guns from their store and are too incompetent/lazy to look up the legal requirements to do so. Do you know why? I certainly don't. The ONLY way to know for sure, with 100% certainty, that the owner/manager does not want (for whatever reason) concealed handguns in their establishment is for them to post a correct and valid 30.06 sign.
Therefore I will continue to ignore and carry past any and all "no guns" sign that does not comply (or come reasonably close - 3/4" letters, for example) with 30.06.
YMMV

Do you know of any specific instance an insurance company required a no gun sign be put up by an insured business? I have been in the insurance business a long time and have never seen it or even heard of it.
The only time the carrying of guns comes up is if security guards are hired.

There was one poster on here who claimed that their insurance company required it. Was s/he telling the truth? I've got no idea, but I've got no reason to doubt him/her either.
TBH, it doesn't really matter. It's a common excuse that is given for the posting of "no gun" signs. Regardless of whether its true or not, my point still stands: Unless it is a compliant 30.06 sign, there is no way to know what the owner/manager's intentions were.

Well, i'll speak for myself...but, I have a moral duty to protect daughters/my wife/myself in that order. I have carried both legally and illegally my entire life ( in my mid 40's). I carry weekly in places that if caught I could lose my job at the least, and go to jail at the worst. You have to make that decision yourself.

Okay, I am not asking Legal here.
Let me put it this way. You and your family are on your way out to dinner. You stop at a restaurant and notice they have a 30.06 sign on the door (legal sign or not), do you:
A. Lock your gun up and go inside and enjoy a nice meal with your family
OR
B. Find someplace else to eat that welcomes CHL

Legal or not makes all the difference to me.
If not, I ignore it and go have a nice meal with my family. If it is a legal sign, I find some place else to enjoy a nice meal. Unless there is no other venue that has the accommodations I want, I will not disarm - and restaurants do not generally fall into that category.

I happened upon this sign today. I just went on through the gate. I had tobacco products too!

If its a valid 30.06, go somewhere else. If its not, carry away.
