Bowling for Columbine

Just watch this one over the weekend while NOT loading my ammo.

I cannot find a stronger word to describe this "award winning" documentary. I thought I was stupid!!!

How can such a load of lies and biases get an award?

I don't want to get emotional or anything, at least, let's show some solid stats. If someone hate guns, hey, that's his/her religious belief. I am not going to change that. What I do want to change is the right perspective towards life.

Also the NRP president portraited in the film is so weak. I almost want to cancel my membership.

Can we not put together a film ourselves to educate people in the right way?

I was really dissapointed i Moore. I really enjoyed Roger and Me, and Canadian Bacon. That's about where it ended, though.

My folks gave me this DVD for my birthday back when it came out. My "favorite" part of it was the little "cartoon" equating the NRA and the KKK. Never mind that in the 50's that blacks in the south organised NRA chapters, got milsurp rifles, and worked to fight off the Klan.

Check this webpage out, it's a great blow-by-blow of all the, err, stuff wrong with that film:

That movie and it's award are proof positive that those awards don't mean anything.

The awards for most of those movies are useless. I mean look at the Dixie Chicks. They won an award on an album that I have yet to hear a song off of, and I listen to pretty much only country. I think if you write something that angers most of the country and makes the extreme left folks happy you can get an award. I bet we could make one.

Ask Al Gore - he found the key.

It's one of those liberal things where the goal is so important, lies and deception are justified if they support that goal.

Remember the guy - Bellisiles? - who won a Bancroft laward for publishing a "study" that showed people hundreds of years ago didn't own many guns? He cited data from (for example) property records in San Francisco during the 1800's . . . even though they were all destroyed in the fires after the big earthquake in 1906!

People took note of other falsifications, the work was thoroughly discredited, and for the first time in history the Bancroft award was rescinded . . . but liberals STILL try to cite his work!
