Gov. Rick Perry signed into law a bill Tuesday that gives Texans a stronger legal right to defend themselves with deadly force.

According to the press and the Brady Bunch, any second now, but the law doesn't take effect until September 1st.

All right, I'm gonna go reread it right now. I want to be prepared in case I get a "pop quiz" on this after 9/1 rolls around.
Oh phew it's only six pages. I'm already enjoying this much more than the FEMA flood control regulations I need to know for work.

At this time we're up to 107 votes with 93.45% in agreement (I believe that's 100 out of 107 votes using truncation instead of rounding). Not too bad, but I'd like a larger sample size, please...

Did you notice how the paper tried to "load" the question? They made it about protecting property instead of protecting one's own safety and that of others.
The intent of the Castle Doctrine is personal safety, not property protection.
It still didn't get them many "anti" votes

I seem to recall this bill had something built into it to protect the shooter from civil prosecution so long as the shooting was justified/legal. Did I just make that up, or did this bill that just passed contain something to that effect?
