Are you in town already? If so and you're ready now, I'm teaching a class in Cibolo (NE of San Antonio - about a 40-minute drive from Boerne) on Sunday and have a few slots available.

PM/email me via forum interface if you're interested.

Steps to obtain a Texas CHL (can be completed in any order):
1. Complete class and range proficiency qualification – 10+ hours (send CHL-100 form to DPS)
2. Complete online state application and pay fee - https://www.texasonline.state.tx.us/txapp/txdps/chl/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... normal fee $140 (various discounts)
3. Complete electronic fingerprints (applicants will be prompted to schedule time during online application) - http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/RSD/CHL/Li ... ntInfo.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
4. Complete passport photos (at any Walgreens, etc. if not provided in class) and send to DPS

Am I eligible?
See Sec. 411.172 Texas Government Code http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/D ... tm#411.172" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

We are not here full time yet. I will definitely keep your address. Given I have a license and have taken an extensive CA course do I also have to take another course? Thanks

Yes Texas license requires Texas course (with a few exceptions for Texas judges and law enforcement).

Inquiring minds want to know....

What do you need to do to get a CA concealed carry license?
Did your issuing authority require psych testing? What was THAT like?
How tightly did the typical licensing authority define "Good Cause"?

Welcome to Texas.... Sorry about the extra class requirement.
