Here's the story on the guilty verdict on the guy in Houston who appears to have baited his neighbor into a confrontation. He was in the wrong, and took the concept of escalation to a whole new level. It is disturbing, however, that having a CHL and a good 'understanding of the law' is being examined as a dangerous combination. Here is a quote from the prosecutor...
“This is about the neighborhood bully armed with a CHL, with an arsenal of weapons and a knowledge of the law,” prosecutor Donna Logan said. “He felt like he had ultimate control. The control to determine who lives and who dies.”
I understand that the whole "Stand your ground" thing has become a favorite soundbite of media outlets everywhere, mostly due to the Zimmerman case. It will be an interesting next year or so due to the Zimmerman case alone, but cases like this in Houston only add fuel to the fire when one guy looking for trouble makes the rest of the reasonable CHL community look like a bunch of vigilantes.
