First Baptist Euless

Was pretty disappointed to see the 30.06 posting at FBC Euless on the Kids' entrance on the back side of the church... printed on the INSIDE of a dark tinted window, in letters about 5/8"-3/4" high, (definitely not 1" high), English only. I did not see it until I was walking OUT of the building. Essentially cannot see them when looking from the outside-in - definitely not contrasting background characters.
Rather lame that you essentially get tricked in to breaking the law.

It doesn't sound like anyone carrying in there would be breaking the law.

5/8", english only, hidden sign does not comply with the law = no law broken (technically speaking).

It's not the sign, it's the principle of the thing.
There is no shortage of Baptist churches (one on every other corner), find one where you and your Texas CH licenses is welcome.

Those are my thoughts on the matter, ymmv.

oh absolutely, a friend of mine walked up to his church he has been going to for years and all of a sudden there was a sign. he, his wife, their daughter, and his springfield turned around and went back to the car in search for a new church.

A very promianant police chief in the DFW area is on the deacons board or the trustee board. Nice guy well enough, but he is one of those that believes in ALOT of training and range time before being allowed to own firearms.
Pretty much restricted to military and police only.

Come to 1:21 Community Church on Mustang drive in Grapevine......where a number of former FBC members are now attending.....between Stacey Furniture and the Tinsel Town movie theater. Our church is not posted at
any entrance.
See you there?

I have it on good authority that band members carry there.

Thanks guys. I don't live in the DFW area, I'm from Waco (hence the username), but was visiting HEB this week and had to go to the church. Was quite surprised and disappointed when I (barely) spotted that sign on my way out the door. My home church in Waco doesn't have a problem with concealed carry.
This was one of those situations where it could be argued that the sign was not valid, but you'd still probably get to ride downtown and spend $$$$ on lawyers. If it were my home church - it wouldn't be any more. Guess they like those who illegally carry better than those who obey the laws.

Actually, FBE is a pretty decent church. I didn't mean to knock it in my previous post. It
is somewhat more conservative in demeanor than my own church, but not a bad place in all fairness to them. I suspect that they posted the sign because they had the mistaken belief that it was required for the chirren.

Then why aren't police and military better trained in handguns then? I don't know how many military I have worked with who either were not given any training at all in handgun or one fellow told me he shot one magazine once. On Police... I think most folks would lose confidence in law enforcement if they knew how little handgun traing they got in the academies. A couple of the schoolsI went to had LEO's in it because they said they DIDN'T get much training in the academy in handguns. One was a 15 year Arlington PD and he could not hit the broadside of a barn. I feel most of us have had as much traing in that area. Now the other forms of self defense, the administrative, other laws, procedural matters they are taught...not as much.

I hear there is a church in Brownwood where folks been known to pull their newest guns out to show them off after services and the preacher uses gun and shooting examples in his sermons for various points...

Hmmmm. My military training was heavy in handgun training. But my butter bar days were long ago and things do change.
