Next time I am in Chapell Hill buying meat at the Chapell Hill meat market, I am going to open an account for my boys. I think the bank should hook up with a local gun shop and offer discounted CHL classes for opening an account for XXX amount of dollars.
Thanks for the post.

May do the same! My brother may or may not work at one of the banks that was just robbed and that bank has a NO gun policy!

I work for a rather large financial institution, and while I have not seen it in writing anywhere, I am told I can be terminated for bringing a firearm to work. I have not been told by HR or management of any kind, just heard it from people in passing.

People can "hear" lots of things. If it isn't in your employee handbook or contract, or have been told by someone in authority, then there is no reason not to do so.

If you live and work in TX, you can be "discharged" for just about any reason, or no reason at all.
Your "people in passing" are correct, although maybe not for the reasons they believe.
I had a chat with my bank manager a few months ago, after they put up a gunbuster sign.
Me: This will be the last time you see me in here
Mgr: Why?
Me: Because I won't come into your bank without my gun, you have no security guard and your sign says you don't want my legal gun.
Mgr: Silence.
Me: I'll be doing business at the drive through, and thinking about whether to move my accounts.
Mgr: I'll have a chat with the regional manager about it.
Me: Do you think that sign will keep a robber from coming in with a gun? or do you think it'll make a bad guy feel a bit safer robbing you?
Mgr: I'll let you know what the regional manager says.
Me: Have a nice day.

I have had several people tell me that since you can't carry in Federal buildings, you can't carry in banks. It's because it has FDIC insurance, if that makes it federal, so would a home that had federal flood insurance! lol

When someone is getting VA benefits, does that make 'em a Fed? Same logic.

As David St. Hubbins famously said, "It's such a fine line between stupid and clever."

We've had posts about a bank in Chappell Hill that had a sign explicitly encouraging concealed carry. Is the bank in the OP a different one or the same?

Update: Appears it is the same bank. Same manager, anyway.

It's the same...this gets resurrected periodically.

Is there a readable picture of this sign anywhere?
I would love to read the "fine" print.
