Misunderstanding different signs

I was leaving a restaurant today at lunch. The gentleman ahead of me in line for the cashier engaged her with this conversation:
Man: See that sign right there? (indicating the blue TABC sign behind her)
Cashier: Yes
Man: That sign is illegal. It has to be in English and in Spanish.
I interrupted at this point and told him he was thinking of the 30.06 sign which is not the same as this TABC sign. He looks cross-eyed at me and says "Read the book!" and then walks out.
I guess it is impossible for some people to understand that there are different signs, with different rules, for different situations. I wonder what he thinks about the 51% sign or the Federal sign...

Obviously your new friend is not as smart as he thinks he is. I wonder what he was hoping to accomplish by telling the cashier, who probably could give a rats behind, about those signs.

Why bother correcting him. The blue sign is a TABC matter, like the pregnancy sign they post in the men bathroom.
Seriously.

Interesting. There are apparently different guidelines in effect on this. The Retailers Guide and the Administrative rules state that the Commission or Administrator
may require the sign to be in a language other than English if the majority of the patrons to the establishment speak a different language. So, I would assume that if you went to a Russian restaurant and the predominance of the patrons were Russian, then they might require it posted in that language.

Dunno.... Just an example I found in another thread or on the web...
Looks like somebody just printed it on their printer from the DPS web site.
