Anyone know if it's possible to get a new picture for my CHL? I'd call but I don't think DPS is open on Saturdays

Welcome to the forum.

Why do you want to do this? Unless the picture isn't you or doesn't look like you I wouldn't think that you could do it.

Maybe he started working out and is now buff and cut and wants the pic to reflect that? :woohoo

Are you renewing? If you are renewing you can change the pic when you send in your renewal CHL 100. I don't know if you can change the pic on a current license.

When I took the class and got the picture made, I had long shaggy hair but I've since changed to a much shorter crew cut and I look quite a bit different. I just wanted a more up-to-date pic

Thanks for the welcome :)

I told my instructor that my picture makes me look like a felon, but he didn't want to retake it. :lol:

Seriously, if it doesn't look like you, call the DPS on Monday and ask. If they are not concerned, then you shouldn't be.

They might, if they have a CHL!

Pawpaw if squirrels start shooting back I am in trouble! They do enough damage without carrying a side arm!

I e-mailed them two or so weeks ago and here is what I got.

You must mail us a CHL-70 form, and you will need to hand write on the form that you are only wanting to update your photo, you will also need a CHL-6 form and two passport photos. Here is a link to our downloadable forms section:

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administra ... /index.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The fee is $25, which you must pay with a check payable to: Texas Dept. of Public Safety. You cannot pay this online.

1.CHL-70
2.CHL-6
3.2 passport photos
4.Check or money order for the fee.

Should you have any additional questions or need further assistance, please contact Concealed Handgun Licensing Customer Relations at 1-512-424-7293.
