I wish people would summarize any link that they post so we can decide whether it's worth our time to read it.

I saw this a couple of days ago and thought it was a good article then. I was at work or I would have put the link up myself and forgot about it by the time I got home.

A few months ago my work blocked FOX from our computers. I checked other news site and it was only FOX. They also block many gun related sites like Cabela's, but not BassPro or WalMart. Very strange. I asked an upper management person about it I knew I could trust and it was unblocked within two hours. Gun and game sites are still blocked. Oh well. I don't shop for guns while at work, but I might check on a pair of boots or fishing gear and then swing by during my lunch break and pick it up. Now that they are blocked, I can't do that.

Anyway, I don't dare try to access this forum from work.

Brady Campaign and the Violence Policy Center found that even those individuals who have legally obtained permits to carry concealed handguns are extremely dangerous
Actually... I completely agree with there opinion.

Though Im sure the context in which I have that opinion is different then what the Brady bunch intended.

C-dub,
Try http://proxify.com/, might solve your problems. If not, there's a group on yahoo that will email you new proxy servers daily. :tiphat:

Speaking as the systems admin for my company, I'd say be very careful doing something like this. Even in our small, close-knit office I (and my boss, the CIO) would have a *huge* issue with folks using proxy servers to get around Internet access restrictions. Of course, I have my firewall configured to block out proxy usage as well, but if I even found attempts in the log files then the user(s) making said attempts would be in for a very unpleasant day...and potential a final one w/ regard to employment.

Just my $0.02

Nothing will make a SysAd madder than someone trying to work around restrictions in place. Most of the time, the use of a proxy is worse on the employee than if they were to go to a blocked site to begin with.

Back on topic, that was one of the better articles on CHL that I have seen in quite some time. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks.

Well I hope you read the above responses first... I used to use this stuff in school where our system administrator was an idiot and blocked out pages with the word "assumption" in it.

Another trick is clicking on the "cached" link under the page URL in the search results of Google. Might get you out of the line of fire of using a proxy.

Okay. Maybe not. It's not that important. Anyway, I do have my iPhone now.
