New CHL requirements???
I received this in an add page that came in the mail a while back and it just recently resurfaced on my desk at work. I am curious as to how he can offer a CHL with no renewals, written test, or range qualification?? Anybody care to guess how this one works? Is there new CHL requirements?

Re: New CHL requirements???
It sounds to me like a Florida non-resident license.
You can apply for that without assistance, if you can read and write.

Re: New CHL requirements???
The license he is advertising is the Utah non-resident license. He is also gouging the people on the price.
EDITED: I see he is including the price of the license in there, so subtract $65 from his fee, and mailing, but still a little high IMO for a 4-6 hour class and no shooting.

Re: New CHL requirements???
now that you mention it, down in the very bottom it says certified Texas and Utah instructor. Maybe a non-resident from Utah? I really don't know how I feel about people carrying a weapon with possibly no ideal how to use it.
ETA: Keith, you beat me to it while I was typing this post. It is the non-resident Utah. Thanks for the info..

The price he is quoting for the license and renewals is Utah.

That's kinda funny, cause this guy recently CALLED me and tried to talk me into raising my prices for the Utah CFP! He is the best free advertising I have out there.stevie_d_64 wrote:Our "Crossfire" can and will beat that in a heartbeat!!!Keith B wrote:The license he is advertising is the Utah non-resident license. Oh, and BTW, he doesn't do photos or prints for that price either. Oh, and he doesn't supply the application. Or the envelope to mail it back in. Or coffee and donuts. Yeah... sounds like a deal to me!

This stuff is going to get Texas law changed; mark my words.

I'm all for that! Change the Texas law to have lower fees, more places to carry, and eliminate the fingerprint requirement for renewals.Charles L. Cotton wrote:This stuff is going to get Texas law changed; mark my words.

The change that Charles is referring to is Texas ceasing to honor non-resident licenses, the way that Colorado has done.

Re: New CHL requirements???
I know. They would have to be pro gun to make the changes I suggested.
Of course, if we had pro gun legislators, they would have passed campus carry and the parking lot bill, among other improvements.
No. Strike that! If we had pro gun legislators, we'd already have the same carry rights as off duty civil servants. Thanks for reminding me of something important I need to do a month from today.

Re: New CHL requirements???
I am already surprised Texas has a reciprocity agreement with a State that has half the requirements. I sure would hate to lose the reciprocity agreement as my daughter carries under Utah alone because she can't afford the Texas CHL.
