grapevine mills mall 3006?
so i went to the mall after work, strapped it on and went in to sun and ski and there was no posted sign...then as i was walking toward one of the exits i noticed what appeared to be a legit 3006 sign on one of the mall entrances...so is this good enough to keep me out, or do i dissreguard and go in through on of the anchor stores that doesnt have a sign posted??

Re: grapevine mills mall 3006?
Grapevine Mills has always been posted correctly, although not at all entrances. If you are even remotely aware that at least one entrance is correctly posted, you can be charged if caught.
I suggest you do what all the rest of us do.......
That is, simply forget that Grapevine Mills even exists. Plenty of other places to spend you money that are CHL friendly.

Ditto. I go to the Northeast Mall instead.AEA wrote:Grapevine Mills has always been posted correctly, although not at all entrances. If you are even remotely aware that at least one entrance is correctly posted, you can be charged if caught.

Last time I went there the sign wasn't worded 100% correct, it may have changed, I can't confirm.
Re: grapevine mills mall 3006?
Don't remember if it was a word or two off, but it is pretty close even if not 100% correct. AND, Grapevine police have stated they believe the mall to be properly posted and will arrest you if found carrying. While you may end up beating the rap, you will not beat the ride.PUCKER wrote:Last time I went there the sign wasn't worded 100% correct, it may have changed, I can't confirm.

Re: grapevine mills mall 3006?
There was a thread on this awhile back where one of the posters (Frazzled?) was going to point blank ask the GV PD contacts he deals with about this. I don't recall ever hearing the outcome. Legal is legal and concealed is concealed and the law is the law, sure why not be the test case. I normally don't go there but if you've got family members that insist on going there then you have hard choices to make, as far as I'm concerned it's not legally posted, I'll check soon, I have a copy of the correct wording on my phone to verify.
Keith, you say GV PD has stated that they will arrest, please provide official documentation of this (or is it just Internet hearsay that a buddy told a buddy?), if they are officially on record this way then it's time to stop this nonsense!

Confirmed that the wording is NOT correct, at least the sign I saw posted at the Rainforest entrance (although I went in through Last Call, no legal signs/any signs there), it said "a person licensed under Article 4413 (29ee)" - I took a picture, it's on my iPhone, what I'm posting with too, won't be able to post the pic for awhile but if someone wants to host/post it then drop me a PM and I'll email it to you.

Re: grapevine mills mall 3006?
its a giant sign over by the Theater. The theaters 3006 sign is small but legal.
I just dont go there.
The Theater did have a Secuirty officer, which was lady with a walkie talkie and a flashlight.

My oldest son used to work as one of the Mall Cops, he quit because he said "the guys that run the Mall Cops there are jerks" They WILL take you in even if you beat it many $$$ later. I just avoid the place even though I have no CHL yet, because of the cop situation there, just a personal pref. Each to his own, I just didn't care for the way my son had to put up with the nonsense.Keith B wrote:Don't remember if it was a word or two off, but it is pretty close even if not 100% correct. Apparently, the Mall Owners are not concerned about their customer's safety or CHL's business. So, shop elsewhere; e.g., e-commerce aka on-line...or at another mall. Don't get your knickers in a knot.
OTOH, I kinda' like to go to a Mall every now and then, pick a bench and watch the peopleS go by. When I was a kid, we called this, "circus is coming to town".

Good advice on spending money somewhere else.
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
Re: grapevine mills mall 3006?
A VERY reliable source has talked to them and they DO consider it legally posted.PUCKER wrote: Keith, you say GV PD has stated that they will arrest, please provide official documentation of this (or is it just Internet hearsay that a buddy told a buddy?), if they are officially on record this way then it's time to stop this nonsense!

Keith, no offense as I don't know you and vice-versa, but this is all just Internet hearsay until I see something official. I just can't believe that any officer worth their ammo would be so ignorant, the law is the law. Do you personally know of any instances where a TX CHL holder was arrested &/or prosecuted by Grapevine PD/Tarrant Co. DA for a supposed 30.06Keith B wrote:A VERY reliable source has talked to them and they DO consider it legally posted.PUCKER wrote: Keith, you say GV PD has stated that they will arrest, please provide official documentation of this (or is it just Internet hearsay that a buddy told a buddy?), if they are officially on record this way then it's time to stop this nonsense!
violation at GV Mills? I treat this sign just like any other non-compliant sign, and yes, I take mental note of their wishes. Do you think this is a case of someone in power that is CHL friendly and hasn't changed the sign but has kept it as is for a feel good sign for managment? That's how I take it until it's proved otherwise.

Well they are under Simon Malls which is located in Indiana, good luck gaining their sympathy. Interestingly, there is a move to shut down The Army Experience Center at Franklin Mills Mall in Pennsylvania. Have a read. Can't carry a legally licensed CCW, but the kiddos can fight a war in the mallOldgringo wrote:Apparently, the Mall Owners are not concerned about their customer's safety or CHL's business.
