Yet another 30.06 question

As you all can see I am new to the carrying (see signature
)
I have not come across one yet but I think I have read it on here somewhere? If there is a 30.06 posted, say on the left side of the door is English only & on the right side of the door is Spanish only.
Make sense to yall? Of course it is of 1 inch letters, verbatim with contrasting colors.
Is this legit?

I'd say they had all their bases covered and really, really don't want my business. In English and in Spanish.

Ok, just didn't know if the Spanish had to be under the English or even on the same side of the doors.

Everything that you've described regarding the sign indicates to me that it is, and I would act accordingly.

There are a few people who have said they think the law requires them to be on one sign. The law does say "a" sign that has both, so I can understand their argument.
But, I think any cop and any court would accept that if the two signs were there, in close enough proximity that you saw them, and they each met the other restrictions 9wording, size) then they would be valid.
Of course, I think the courts would say it was valid if there was only one language and it happened to be the one you speak as a primary language. I know this is not what the law says, but i think the courts would say close enough. I could be wrong on both counts.

THere are numerous threads on where to carry, where not to carry, what is a legal sign, what is not legal. In the next legislature we need to push to have any restrictions on where we carry removed except for bars. That would really simplify the issue and put to bed. I know employers and malls and the like will try to block it, but you dont get what you dont ask for.

Why bars? What am I going to do with a gun in a bar that I'm not going to do at WalMart?

Get drunk and go on a random shooting spree.

No kidding. 51% is worse than the 30.06 signage for private businesses, because it does not even allow the property owner to set their own rules. The state is overruling not only our right to self-defense, but also private property rights.
By the way, some things you might be more likely to do with a gun in a bar that you won't do at Wal Mart would be: to have to fight off a drunk idiot whose impaired judgment encourages him to commit an assault; defend yourself from a mugger while walking back to your car, etc.
It happens that Wal Marts are not built in the parts of town with the same level of risk as those where they tend to put bars. Well-lit parking lots, excellent visibility, plenty of people around, etc. are typical of Wal Marts but very atypical of a bar.

What's gonna stop me from getting drunk at Chilli's and going on a random shooting spree?

Really? So, the law that says I can't be intoxicated while carrying won't stop me. The law that says I can't randomly murder people with my concealed handgun doesn't stop me. However, I'm going to pay attention to the 51% sign, lock my gun away in the car and all is well with the world. Gotcha!
